  • Why Silver’s Breakout Could Bring It Out of Gold’s Shadow [View article]
I lived in South East Asia for almost a year last year, and, I saw a growing and educated middle class, who were entrepreneurial, street smart, and DISCIPLINED savers.

I'm sailing back over there on my live-aboard sailboat, because the US is moving in the direction of federal bankruptcy, if it doesn't start becoming more fiscally responsible in the near future.

Asians DO like to buy gold, and, silver, and, since the dollar will continue to weaken so long as our federal, state, and local governments borrow too much money during a war-weakened economy, I am moving back there to start a tourism business using my sail-boat and scuba gear.

I plan to look at the momentum and volume data on gold-related investments, because I'm bullish on gold. I'm still wary of silver, since central banks don't buy it, but, I haven't ruled it out.

Meanwhile, about 10% of my investment account is in Aussie dollars, because they are relatively safe way to ride the resource inflation bull.

  • Why the Stock Market Should Crash [View article]
About 25% of my savings is in the equities market. Of that, about 40% is in Aussie Dollars, and the rest is in three high-dividend-yielding oil, natural gas, and energy plays.

Sure this stock market is being propped up, but, I'm not too worried, because, I own the sailboat I live on, I have ZERO debt, AND, I'm sailing out of this ailing, flailing empire in February, 2010 for good.

I'm starting a small tourism business in Malaysia, because the green shoots over there are export-based and sustainable.

  • Bankers, The Spooks Want You! [View article]
Nothing surprises me anymore about the CIA.

My Dad was interviewed by the CIA when he was finishing up his undergrad degree at the University of Texas, in Austin. I've never forgotten the story he told me about how he took the written test that they gave as some kind psychological profile tool. He said he got about half-way through the test and concluded from the nature of the questions, that only a soul-less sociopath could possibly pass it. He walked up to the person administering the test, and, told them he didn't want to be a part of an organization that only hired sociopaths, and, never looked back.

We could stop most, if not, all future wars by shutting down the CIA. About the only decent thing they do is provide data about potential threats to us, but, how can we trust an organization that keeps such deep secrets?

At least, now, there seems to be more Congressional oversight than there was under Bush

  • No One Saw This Economic Crisis Coming? [View article]
    Let's face it:

If the United States of America were a ship, her name would be the Titanic. The iceberg which has opened up our national economic hull and which is ultimately responsible for the current economic decline of our nation is easy enough to see, but, our collective national hubris kept us on the foolish path of ultimate destruction, because too many of us were busy betting on office football pools or gobbling the latest morsel of "news" about the latest celebrity of the week.

The iceberg's name is greed, and, she may only float in a sea called "Apathy".

I have money invested in a mix of stocks, metals, and currency, and, I got rid of ALL my debt a few years ago, because I believe this economic crisis will persist for a a very long time.

If we want the crisis to end sooner, we need to fire our professional politicians and replace them with ones who just work in Washington for a few years and go back to being human again before they become too corrupt to function ethically in the morality-vortex which swirls around DC like a dark storm.

We also need to get rid of the barriers to the entry of third parties, so we can have real change, that we REALLY CAN ALL BELIEVE IN... and, I KNOW, and YOU KNOW that average Americans want systemic socialism about as much as we want to volunteer for a frontal lobotomy!

    Oh, and another thing:

Anyone who thinks it's a good idea to borrow from China, so we can be the world's ROBO-COP is in need of a brain transplant!

  • U.S. Economic Outlook: Why We Need a Recession to Drive Recovery [View article]
    Great blog!

I agree. We need to create a sustainable economic core, which features technologically-advanc... energy breakthroughs, and, we must face the unpleasant reality that salaries are going to fall for most of us, because we can only compete on the world stage with salaries which are competitive.

I'm also concerned about the size and scope of the President's proposed budget, and, we all know the stock market is having a hard time digesting this bad news.

Eight years of Bushian madness, coupled with the present reality, make for some sobering challenges.

I'm sailing overseas to start a small tourism-related business, because, I have no debt, I own the sailboat I live on, and, I refuse to suffer because some stupid politicians have left us with a giant debt bomb. I intend to make a new life in a part of the world where people save a decent portion of their income every month.

    Suffering is a choice.

I say this because we are all worn out from eight years of foreign wars, and all the corrupt cronyism that marked the reign of King George.

While we all know that no President can save us from some fate, at least this cuurent one seems to genuinely care about the national well-being. If he doesn't get it right in four years, by at least turning things in a more positive direction, then we will peacefully fire him and replace him with another leader who can manage our national resources more carefully.

As for me, I'd like to see no more Washington DC bail-outs for inept and greedy corporate slugs. Let the morons who helped greedy consumers and the greedy politicians who enabled the whole mess fall on their collective self-made swords!

Carpe Diem, my fellow American citizens.

We have an economy to rebuild. I choose to do my part overseas, because I've paid my dues and my taxes here for a long time, and, I'll continue to pay my lawfully-required taxes here at home, but, alas, I feel the call of the wind and the waves; and tropical breezes are soon going to be my constant companion.

Meanwhile check out a website called Hydrogen Garage. And, get involved in making alcohol fuel for yourself. Don't be a slave to the Babylonian Beast. (LOL) Get into the fray and show your fellow citizens your entrepreneurial spirit.

We showed the world our ingenuity and our courage by landing the first human being on the moon.

We can overcome these new challenges, and, we will.

Be the changes you wish to see in the world...

Shame our leaders into more positive behavior by living frugally and investing wisely.

    Carry on fellow fools! (LOL)
