    Andreas,

Tesla only makes high priced cars for the 1% RIGHT NOW. They are using the revenue from these purchasers to reinvest and expand the manufacturing capacity as well as the Supercharger network. This has been the plan the entire time. Once the manufacturing facilities and charging infrastructure are in place, they are then able to produce a more affordable car that a lot more people can purchase. Again, this is all according to the original plan. It costs an extraordinary amount of money to build out a factory able to produce a meaningful number of vehicles. The subsidies are there for all who produce products that fit the parameters. There is no "conspiracy" here, the overall "good for society" aspect comes into play with the "zero emissions" and increased overall efficiency of electric propulsion. An ICE is at most 23% efficient whereas an EV is well north of 75% efficient. This is significant. This is the future.

I don't even know why I am bothering, but I will try to explain once more...

    Paulo stated:
"So no, on November 3 Tesla was not yet producing the Model X."

Paulo states that Tesla is not producing Model X as a "fact"...
I know someone who says otherwise.... who actually toured the factory and witnessed production of Xs... Paulo's statement I dispute with my actual knowledge of someone who has seen otherwise and has been given communication to the contrary as well..... Your interpretation of what Paulo actually meant, doesn't make what he said "fact".

    Paulo also stated:
"No such communication has taken place yet"

Which I don't consider "Fact" either as I know someone who has, in fact, received such communication...

So don't call my credibility into question when you have a reading comprehension issue.

My whole point in commenting is based on the fact that the author does not have "facts"! or did you not get that part? Maybe engage the brain before the keyboard?

I believe the CEO of a company over a "short" when Tesla is producing and delivering vehicles... AND I know someone who actually witnessed production.... By all means, invest based on this article... PLEASE DO.

My "guy" actually received such communication and was invited to tour the factory where he witnessed Model X production...

Paulo I usually just chuckle at your "facts" and then go look at the real facts.. However, this really disappointed me coming from you:
"It's useful to remember that a "yes we started production" could have been answered even if just a couple of Model Xs were flowing down the line. That such a direct question could not receive a direct answer thus means that anything short of "no" would have been false. So no, on November 3 Tesla was not yet producing the Model X."

You actually state that Tesla is not producing the Model X and then go on to state this:
"This is relevant. When the Model X goes into production, the cars will take a while to be built as well as to be delivered. Furthermore, customers need advanced notice of when they'll get the cars, to set up a schedule to receive it, and most importantly, to set up financing for the car. So Tesla has to communicate early with the customers for when deliveries are to be expected.

No such communication has taken place yet"

I know of a customer who has received such a communication... This is a new low for you and really should be considered as Libel.... Like I said, I usually just read your whole articles and chuckle as I can see the spin you put on things and get what you are trying to do.... but really? REALLY? just sad....

  • Tesla's Q3 Delivery Number Was Disappointing  [View article]
Haven't commented here in a while... Still see the hit pieces coming in, just with different authors. Where is JP? Is he insolvent due to his Axion "all in" stop start lead/acid strategy? Seriously, has anyone heard from him lately? Still hoping Tesla hangs in there to become a serious producer. All the real followers know that, of course not everyone can afford a Model S or X, but this is the build out period. I can't stand seeing the "when they show a profit" or "cash burn" comments. OF COURSE THEY ARE BURNING CASH, they are attempting to build a factory (and recharging infrastructure) that can produce an affordable car at the expense (willingly, mind you) of those who happen to like the "toys" currently being offered. Because they are f'n awesome and guilt free!

In case you didn't notice, there is a change coming. These "alternatives" are merely "stop-gap" products. They do serve a purpose, which is to keep the established auto-makers relevant long enough to adapt. If they cannot bridge the gap, they will perish. Tesla, on the other hand, is leading the charge. IMHO, not a real article, just an opinion piece.

  • Dissecting Tesla's ZEV Mythology  [View article]
One thing that I think JP and others are forgetting is that Tesla may have a sweet deal going with Solar City as far as producing electricity from renewable resources. Additionally, those renewables may have been produced using the energy from the first round of renewables that were built. There is potentially an exponential rate of cleaning going on with the power needed to produce both solar panels and Teslas.

This, as well as the ongoing cleaning of the grid is inexplicably omitted from ANY of JP's articles or comments. He consistently assumes static figures, or dismisses any cleaning as "inconsequential" due to the low current percentages. This is extremely misleading, and on purpose.

Perception is reality. Once the misinformation is out there, it is almost impossible to correct. This is where JP shines. His FUD machine puts the "facts" out there and all of his followers forward and quote and duplicate these "facts" and so they become reality. However, this only works on the weak minded who blindly follow someone who uses big words and catchy insults...... The rest are sitting there watching the spin and misinformation campaign doing exactly what it is designed to do, with frustration.

However, there is hope due to the fact that there is an irresistible wave of real facts that will sweep over and decimate the misinformation. One thing does hold true, even in today's corrupt and misinformation environment...... The truth is the truth....

  • Why Long-Range BEVs Are An Economic, Energy And Emissions Abomination  [View article]
@ froggey77 - My car reached speeds of 120 MPH, does that mean that if I hit anything now I will be dead? Just because the vehicle hit speeds of 140 doesn't mean the impact occurred at anything even over 10 MPH..... don't make assumptions, or twist facts to suit your opinions...

So calculations based on 90s tech is still valid today? Even with the advancements in Regenerative braking, motor efficiencies and battery energy density improvements? Really John?
