  • What Normalized Metrics Reveal About Amazon's Operations [View article]
I don't know about any of this horse stuff! I got out of Amazon and don't regret it. I still have 4500 shares but the other 41500 are long gone.

After the first of the year I will bail on the rest of it.

  • Amazon: Prime Now To Enhance The Ecosystem [View article]
Too many buyers don't understand the fine print in the Amazon store card purchases. Just like they didn't with Paypal "Bill Me Later".

It is spelled out terribly...6 months interest free. Never mentioning the monthly payments required and in addition to this they don't realize that if not paid off in full within those 6 months that interest will be charged from day one.

Paypal is currently under total investigation for this behavior and will most probably have to refund millions of dollars.

Usery doesn't exist in every state...but non-disclosure surely does.

My highest interest rate on any of my 11 cards is 9.99% with the lowest being 4.2%. But 19.99% works well for anyone that can pay off their cards monthly.

Nice article. All of this is great and I hope it works for Amazon.
IMO the only things they should really be working on at this time would be what is totally broken at this moment.

For instance 68% of Amazon store card owners stated that they would definitely never use their store cards for a purchase on there again. To me this is a "broken" portion of their business that should be addressed before taking on new ideas.

  • Amazon's Diapers Are Going To Flop Just Like The Fire Phone [View article]
Cripes it took me from May to December to figure out why I actually parted with my Amazon stock.

Sold literally a few million on the internet....But I never had a "BRAND" and never will. Hell I don't even have pierced ears yet!

You know what happens to those that aren't "branded"? They go to heaven for hard work!

    Hello Cassandra,

As per your request, I reviewed the ASINs B00EX8N3W2 and B00EX73GRA and have seen that the listing was blocked by our investigation team.

Please know that, our seller performance team is currently reviewing this category. The offers associated with ASIN have titles that are not complying with the Home and Garden Style guide. This is the reason why the listing has been blocked.

What best I can do and have done is, I have provided a help page with the Home and Garden Style guidelines. Once you update your title by following the guidelines in that help page, the block should be removed.

All I can say to any of this is that Amazon's email today was more than alarming.

Starting January 14th they will begin disabling ads from third party sellers that don't meet their criteria.

Looks like an August 2013 guard railing of ebay sellers all over again.

    Very disappointing.

  • Amazon: Free Cash Flow Not What The Bulls Purport It To Be [View article]
Thank you for this article, well written and to the point.

With Amazon's latest invention of disabling 3P sellers listing that they decide aren't in the interest of the seller or the buyer they should be in the toilet even sooner than anticipated.

One of my ads offers 30 of an item for $2.99, one of my competitors ads offers 10 of the same item for $2.99. Which ad do they disable? MINE.

We all know about unfair advantages but I must admit that Jeff might be thinking backwards as to who is being fair and who is being unfair. I work on a 400% mark up and feel comfortable with what I earn on each sale.
They announced yesterday via email that they will be disabling all ads that they feel don't meet their criteria. This company should just keep shooting itself in the foot.

"Also, you are a man, aren't you? Most of the people doing the shopping for diapers are women, and they're notoriously more brand-aware (most of them, at least)."

I can't think of a single package of diapers that was purchased and brought to me by a woman in the last say 8 years. They have all been purchased and paid for by men without any instructions on what brand to buy.
