It's a question of savvy but also engineering. The newspaper industry drove printing in the 19th and 20th centuries. Now the tides have turned somewhat in that technology is now no longer a product of the news, it's either a massive threat, or a massive enabler. Some of this must be attacked aggressively, some of it must be allowed to evolve organically. It is an interesting time. What needs to comprehended by newspapers is that the media will constantly shift, from browser to viewer, to stream, to RSS etc. What they must excel at is quality of content, not method of delivery. They should create a peerless product, and then disseminate it in the manner of the day.
