  • AT&T: What If You Bought At Market Highs? [View article]
An even better one IMO is IVR. Heavy insider buying in the past few weeks, dividend rate of 11.4% and the REITs have been moving steadily up all year. Its ex dividend date is tomorrow (6/25).

  • Orexigen Will Run: Here's Why [View article]
How are you all doing with that stock by the way? I remember you all bashing Cramer 2 years ago when it was at 10 bucks and he said it wasn't his favorite pick for the rest of the year. How has it fared since? I haven't been paying attention...

  • Orexigen Will Run: Here's Why [View article]
You Areniacs can keep playing your games and screaming things like "generics" all that you want the way you have all the while. It doesn't matter. What matters is the contrave is the superior product with much bettet efficacy than your PLACEBO pill belviq and it has a much better safety profile than Qsymia. Anybody who professes otherwise is nothing but a bold faced liar who is probably either employed by Arena or heavily invested in it. It doesn't take a rocket scientist nor much dd for any prospective investor to look up the clinical trial data for both drugs and know this

  • MannKind: Confidence And Cancer [View article]
Actually sublingual tablets work very quickly as well. Nitro works under the tongue in 5 minutes. That said I'm very skeptical that a SL insulin treatment would work effectively, and even if it does it would be many years away.

  • An Encouraging Quarter, Ironwood One To Keep On The Radar In 2014 [View article]
Sales were up sequentially 48 percent last qtr. to only 19% this qtr. despite the advertising campaign being under way, and yet shares sold off back then. Now people act like these numbers are impressive because of what it sold compared to a year ago when it sold nothing? I was expecting more from quarter over quarter sales.

  • Is Now The Time To Buy Ironwood Pharmaceuticals? [View article]
Why no mention of the recent buyout of Forest Labs by Actavis? Wouldn't this also potentially help Linzess by giving it greater access to resources, bigger/better connected sales teams, etc?

  • The 27-1 AdCom Votes Have So Many Positive Implications For MannKind [View article]
I don't know that Al Mann wants to lose control of the company he built and with his name on it through a buy out. A partnership with favorable terms seems more likely to me.

"With no other forseeable catalysts." I see another catalyst. It's the most important one of all and it's called SALES.

  • Arena's Belviq Sales To Hit $150 Million In 2014? [View article]
The problem is simple. There is a McDonalds in every small town, and I don't see any articles being written about how we should be shorting that company. These pills are only ADJUNCTS to lifestyle modification, something that frankly any person can do anyways without the involvement of medication if they want it enough. The failure of these sales numbers speak more to the failures of our culture and its values related to individual health and diet moreso than it does to deficiencies of the medications themselves. These meds can't reach blockbuster status if people don't have the will to change first. Veganism has at least been gaining incrementally in recent years, so maybe there is some long term hope for these medications. Mickey D's isn't going out of business anytime soon though.

  • Thank You For Riding The MannKind Catalyst Train - Please Exit Safely At The Next Available Station [View article]
Those are not all of the ad coms from last year. Off the top of my head I know that Titus Phatmaceuticals had one which was positive. As also mentioned in a 5 year period about three fourths have turned out positive. The author is cherry picking his facts here.

  • Prana Biotechnology And MannKind Corp.: Bad News Obeys Its Own Special Laws [View article]
That's some bad advice even if you don't think it will get approved. The risk is already priced in to the options. 1.04 1.11 for the may put with delta of only 18 cents and depreciates 0.8 cents a day (times 54 days before pdufa). You basically risk 100 percent in the hopes of making 50 percent if you're correct.

  • Arena And Vivus Weaken On Poor Obesity Drug Prospects In Europe [View article]
ARNA was only technically not rejected, you don't withdraw an application if you think it has any chance of approval. The concerns regarding Belviq by the EU are the same ones that have been addressed all along, and the biggest one of them all is likely risk-to-benefit, which from an efficacy standpoint is very poor. An additional 3% weight loss is nothing, in a 300 pound person it equates to a mere 9 extra pounds lost. Why would Europe, who doesn't have the type of obesity epidemic that the USA have, take any chances at all for such marginal results? Do you really think they're apt to take any chance at all that the cancer or cardiovascular risks might be at all real? And then there's the potential for abuse considering that taking an overdose of this stuff will make you trip your face off like LSD. I'm not even sure why the FDA approved it given its lack of efficacy relative to risk. If a person can lose weight on their own, what do they need a pill for to lose an additional 3%? At any rate, if ARNA was able to adequately address these issues with the EMA they would have certainly done so already given how much time they've had since they received their initial list of questions last year.

Arena's market cap should be at least a third of what it currently is in comparison to that of Vivus.

  • A.P. Pharma Receives Complete Response Letter On APF530 [View article]
The issues certainly seem to be of the minor variety (though can't be overly certain due to the vagueness of management's responses), as one caller to the cc observed, and I suspect that they will be adequately addressed by the next go round. However with it trading at its current level I don't care that much if they are or not. The stock should be up aplenty from where it currently is by that time regardless. If it drops more at this point I'll buy more. Then I'll have the option to either sell all beforehand or sell some and keep some headed into the next decision.
