My wife bought COP on Monday, and i bought it yesterday. I consider it a safe play because, whatever happens, she can't say "what were you thinking" lol. On AAPL though, I'm on my own...

  • Sarepta Vs Glaxo In The Race To Treat Muscular Dystrophy [View article]
The FDA does not extend accelerated approval easily, and would likely not respond well to any characterization that AA is a slam dunk. They are obligated to perform their due diligence just as Sarepta is obligated to support their request. That Sarepta is trading up more than 2% in an otherwise dismal market today offers some indication that investors understand this.

  • Himax Technologies: The Short Case [View article]
Investing in the stocks of companies like HIMX is speculative by definition. And the more speculative the investment, the less insightful attempts at valuation are. DM, your article is well written and reasoned, but doesn't speak to the main question: "is HIMX positioned to become a game changer". If it is, who cares what it's EV/EBIDTA last year was.

WYNN looks pretty good here too. In fact, the charts and ratings reports I've looked at pretty close. Any opinions here on the comparison?

  • Apple: Probably Going To Remain Painful For The Average Investor [View article]
Apple is looking like a potential safe harbor at this point. Sure, it can still go lower, how likely is that? I'd be a lot more nervous about companies like AMZN and GOOG at this time - and they don't pay dividends. GOOG, for example, has been going down for five weeks now - despite the fair-haired child status it has garnered during Apple's slide.

  • 3D Printer Company Market Watch [View article]
Thank you for your thoughts, Mikko - an interesting and useful article. I'm wondering if anyone might opine on Cimatron CIMT, an Israeli CAD/CAM company that is moving into the 3D printing arena. I bought it recently but sold it when it took a nose-dive. But now, at a much lower price, I'm taking another look.

  • The DoD will place an order for 650K iOS (AAPL) devices - 210K iPhones, 120K iPads, 100K iPad Minis, and 200K iPod touches - following the end of the sequester, Electronista reports. The iOS gear will reportedly be used to replace BlackBerrys (BBRY) - the DoD currently has 470K in operation - and would come ahead of the planned implementation of a "platform agnostic" device policy in Feb. 2014. Electronista previously reported the DoD had largely ended BB10 testing due to budget cuts. [View news story]
