Craig Van Pelt is a full-time trader specializing in one day, overnight trades of stocks, equity options, index options and ETF's. All trades are opened at the close or in the "After Hours Session," and they're closed-out in the first hour of trading the following day. His trading strategy is based upon his proprietary software program that he developed over some 20 years. The program uses the OEX and its current month OEX Options as the exclusive data input, and predicts the next days "opening" of the market with 80%+ accuracy. Craig is a former stock broker, Registered Investment Advisor & Money Manager. Born in New Jersey, he lived abroad for many years in the Caribbean, Europe and Russia. Craig is 65 years old and now resides in Florida. Villanova University 1965-1969 Honor Student, School of Commerce & Finance.
Ivy League grad, summa cum laude, 4.0 in Economics, Columbia J.D., 20+ years experience identifying early trends and themes b4 the Wall St herd. In search of undervalued, underfollowed, explosive growth opportunities, principally in, but not limited to, the biotech sector.
After following the markets for years, I started actively managing my portfolio in 2010. Plenty of misteps and a few victories have brought me to the point of wanting to share my experiences and gather feedback from this community.
I'm still learning the more advanced strategies for options and currently investigating futures trading, I want to bring my perspective to the investing world and hopefully generate some alpha along the way.
I tend to focus on a few names at a time to determine their trading patterns before intitating anything. I've learned that patience is a virtue and to not rush into trades. There are always more opportunities though I still struggle with "the trade that got away" syndrome on my darker days.
I hope anyone reading my articles is able to get some valuable information out my opinions and experience, and maybe a chuckle once in a while.
I am a sales manager in the Industrial Distribution industry with over 20 years experience, and have been an independent investor for more than 15 years. I have focused on a long term, buy and hold, value and GAARP dividend investing strategy.
