  • Alcoa Earnings Preview: Stock Oversold, Valuation Cheap, But Changing A Business Model Takes Time  [View article]
I purchased AA about two weeks ago, just below $13 it has bottomed which was expected. The new business model will move into effect quickly, the aero business will continue to grow faster with the acquisition of RTI. Expect a bit of a surprise on earnings due to growth in the smart phone and smart watch business along with their relationship with Apple. As they fine tune the business model AA will surpass expectations in the coming years. I was never interested in AA before because of the old business model. I am long and content with the leadership at AA! Invest wisely my friends!

  • AT&T And Rooting For Lower Prices  [View article]
My own opinion is more about the company than the actual dividends. If you compare T with VZ on earnings alone VZ has far more potential. Upside price and why, VZ's business plan is far more aggressive than that of T. AT&T has an old system in place that they continue to band aid where as VZ builds new plant continually. Just this fact alone has me owning VZ long term.

Lock-out ends 4/8 it's a non factor, new stores being constructed with products at low prices. If you haven't been in one they resemble a mom and pop store, with a modern touch. I own it I am long and only see upside going forward!

  • Railcar Makers: Deep Value In An Overbought Market  [View article]
My apologies, ALDW currently has a 14.25% yield and the stock price has been beaten down to an attractive price. It is a LP limited partnership so you may have tax implications. At some point oil will stabilize and this one should prove to be worthy of anyone's consideration.

  • Alcoa And Thoughts About Chinese Aluminum  [View article]
    Roger,
I appreciate your comments, as do I the others in the chain of comments and especially Keith for writing such a timely article. As someone who manages their own retirement and investing portfolio I look for companies that offer the most upside and stability. AAPL has been and will be one of my key assets in my portfolio, that said, AA has managed to work itself into a key component of AAPL and the auto industry by way of Ford's adaptation of aluminum into its line of truck bodies, not to mention the airline industry. As an investor I had always smirked when hearing Alcoa's earning over the last several years and was not only not impressed they were down right dismal. The acquisition of RTI opens a whole new dialog on Alcoa's momentum into 2015. I recently took a very bullish position with Alcoa and look forward to 2015 and beyond.

  • Smart & Final Stores Set For Significant Future Earnings Growth  [View article]
SFS offers shoppers real value not offered at other stores. As a SFS regular shopper I find they have the same products that others have but in larger quantities, you may buy salad dressing in a 12 ounce bottle but SFS has it in a 24 ounce bottle. SFS caters to catering in many of their product offerings, sorry for the pun! For businesses that purchase cleaning supplies you will find great bargains on all of their products. I invested in SFS because I believe in their business plan and enjoy the shopping experience.

I agree Dallas, it will only go up as long as the market remains bullish. Buy companies that you shop at and this one is a family favorite. My wife pushed me to buy and very glad I did! We all ride dogs way too often, enjoy a real bull while you can!

  • Railcar Makers: Deep Value In An Overbought Market  [View article]
    Bret,

Nice work, it's funny how people forget how much pipe is in the ground KMI has a more pipe in the ground than all the trains in the US from end to end. Yes rail has become the next best method of moving oil. So that said, if you have a lot of oil and you have run out of places to store it you may want to load it in tank cars and set them on empty track. Rail car producers will benefit no matter what the price of oil. Moving goods on trains is cheap. I'm long on KMI and TRN with a nice addition of ALWD @ 14.25% yield!
