As managing member of Vavra Capital Management, Jason has more than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. Jason provides investment management, financial planning and insurance services to institutional and individual clients. Jason utilizes a comprehensive financial planning approach which includes analyzing current market conditions, the client's financial position, risk tolerance, and future spending need. He believes this approach is a successful formula for developing a comprehensive long term financial plan.
Through Vavra Capital Management, Jason also provides consulting services to businesses. With a focus on micro cap companies, the services performed include investor relations assistance, securing Investment Banking relationships for potential mergers, acquisitions, sales or initial public offerings and introducing companies to potential investors.
Jason has been invited to speak to various groups and associations. Such notable organizations are the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Payroll Association.
Jason holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Accounting from Bloomsburg University. In addition to being a Registered Investment Advisor, Jason is also a Certified Public Accountant, and is a registered Life/Health Insurance Agent. He is a member of the AICPA and is actively involved in various committees and associations.
John M. Mason writes on current monetary and financial events. He is an entrepreneur and a writer. Current projects include a new banking institution, an Internet company, a private equity fund, two depository institutions and a community redevelopment fund. He formerly was on the faculty of the Finance Department, Wharton School, the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Mason has been President and CEO of two publicly traded financial institutions and the executive vice president and CFO of a third. He has also served as a special assistant to the secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington, D. C. and as a senior economist within the Federal Reserve System. Dr. Mason has served on the boards of venture capital funds and other private equity funds. He has worked with young entrepreneurs, especially within the urban environment, starting or running companies primarily connected with Information Technology. Some of his new ventures are in the sustainable business and impact business space. .
