The Real Insider Scoop on AIG

I'm an insider (albeit a low-level one)....I've never seen an email like the one mentioned above...and certainly not daily. Occaisionally, Liddy sends one out ("tough week....keep your chin up......here's what the press got wrong"...etc)....but that's it.

And I have no idea why the author thinks AIG will file bankruptcy *after* selling subsidiaries. The only point of selling anything is to pay off the government loan....The market hasn't yet allowed anyone else to pay what those companies are worth. The individual insurance companies are still doing extremely well - despite what their competitors would like to convey/believe.

Honestly, can anyone post on this site? Laura, AIG's outside counsel, and the Fed's own attorneys (see Washing Post article) have poured over this for some time and all concluded that they have to pay these bonuses. I'm guessing that their collective opinion is more informed than your single one.
