Joseph, "an observation one could make" is that you are not qualified to make any recommendation to anyone about Apple, keep up the Seeking Alpha shorting on Apple though.....it is sooooooooooooo obvious. We are all aware of the companies recent decline and we also believe it unwarranted. If you want to add value......suggest the next big growth Tech company......and I"ll also give you a hundred negative reasons why you are wrong......blah blah.....!

Which one of the 15 contributors on Apple at SA are we to believe over the last 24 hrs ?........think I'll wait to se how Apple actually do in the Christmas quarter after they've sold all their products around the world at their biggest revenue time of the year...too many speculators guessing on this one......!

  • The FTC issued recommendations on Friday to beef up privacy on mobile devices, including that developers should incorporate do-not-track capabilities in apps and other software. While the proposals aren't binding, they carry the weight of policy for the likes of Apple (AAPL), Google (GOOG) and Microsoft (MSFT). Underscoring the FTC's commitment to privacy, it has fined social-networking app Path $800K for collecting personal information on children. [View news story]
Oh no, that means we should sell Google, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, linkedIn....best be safe and sell everything which means Samsung too, as there are so many reports of how Samsung have reached the top spot with selling mobiles.......how come you never mentioned them in your brief........or do they not count when the main here is to manipulate Apple stock again.......!

  • "High above the Alps, my gnome is hearing that Apple’s shares are lower because of margin calls," writes Doug Kass as Apple (AAPL -1.3%) falls to $444 and cedes its market cap crown for now to Exxon Mobil. The FY13 EPS consensus has fallen to $45.07 from a pre-earnings level of $48.30, but that still puts shares at 6.6x forward EPS exc. cash. The dividend yield is now at 2.4%. You need to get this right, Apple have already set aside tax payments for profits made overseas and have accounted for these payments in each quarter. When they repatriate the cash, the tax payments have already been allocated out of it.
Why is it that everyone is looking for non-existent cracks.........!!!!

  • The iPhone 5 is still supply-constrained at U.S. Apple Stores, says Piper's Gene Munster after polling 70 of them. He also found ongoing shortages at AT&T and Verizon, though Sprint's situation is said to be improving. Those comments are probably contributing to today's Apple (AAPL -2.7%) selloff, especially since Munster's Oct. 4 report on shortages proved accurate. On a more positive note, Munster's poll of 730 U.S. consumers found 55% of those planning to buy a smartphone indicating they want an iPhone 5. [View news story]
It's a good day for the bears in any case, if rumour and confusion can cause this sort of drop in one day, then the whole financial marketing system is a circus.......don't waste your time on day trading and the glorified gamblers that these traders are.....the stock is sound and the next quarter will be the one to gauge Apple on. Short sellers were backed up to take out a target as big as Apple.....!

  • Apple's Flawed iPhone 5 Design And Its Effect On Stock Performance [View article]
When you say that Samsung spent more than 10 x Apple on R&D did you mean on phones only, or cameras, DVD players, stereos, hoovers, TV's, Fridges etc ? They tend to diversify their ranges a bit more than Apple......!

  • Some Apple (AAPL) commentary: 1) Horace Dediu estimates the iPhone and iPad's component costs respectively rose 29% and 65% Y/Y in FQ2, well above rev. growth of 3% and 40%. This, along with a mix shift towards iPads, is mostly responsible for Apple's gross margin drop (rather than price pressure). 2) Tero Kuittinen sees similarities between 2013 Apple and 2007 Nokia. "The strongest parallel is in the weird way both companies started fighting the consumer preference for larger displays … and then dug in as margins began eroding rapidly." Tim Cook may have just hinted a bigger iPhone will eventually arrive. But how long will it take? (yesterday[View news story]
Oh dear not more Apple bad news, I'd better sell some more of my shares as they will undoubtedly never make any money ever again, fantastic insight Seeking Alpha......! Maybe I should buy CRUS based on the above or are they bound to fail too cause they are linked to Apple ? Give some constructive news rather than jumping on the overcrowded beating Apple bus for a change.

  • Apple (AAPL -2.3%) roundup: 1) Ahead of its Feb. 27 shareholder meeting, Apple has enlisted giant U.S. pension fund Calpers to help push through voting reforms: among the proposed changes are a requirement that a majority of shareholder votes are needed to approve a director. 2) U.S. iPad Mini shipping times are down to 1-3 business days, while the new iMac remains back-ordered in Europe. 3) Morgan Stanley expects gross margin to rebound in 2H13 thanks to lower iPhone-related equipment purchases and stabilizing NAND flash prices. [View news story]
The markets are a complete joke if they can manipulate major stocks like this, it's the Wild West of investing......lets go for Google next, or Amazon......what they are not aware of is the damage that they are doing to the investment market in the process and the companies that they need to balance the economy and GDP.

Oh dear, maybe Apple should just close down tomorrow and you can let some Korean company that makes fridges take the tech mantle........why don't you get behind your home grown companies and be positive about them, after all that is what will ultimately help your GDP and stop China from owning most of America and the West in the next 10 years.......!

  • The breakdown of Apple's (AAPL) iOS Maps partnership with Google (GOOG) centered around turn-by-turn navigation, sources (possibly within Apple) tell AllThingsD's John Paczkowski. Apple pushed Google to provide data that would enable turn-by-turn, but Google was unwilling, at least without in-app branding and/or support for other Google features. One source suggests Apple execs have been taken aback by the Maps uproar. "I think they felt they were farther along than they actually are." (more[View news story]

  • Samsung Electronics (SSNLF.PK) says its Q1 profit rose 42% to a record high on strong smartphone sales. Net profit rose to a record KRW7.15T ($6.4B), up from KRW5.05T a year earlier. Operating profit rose 54% to KRW8.8T from KRW5.7T. Sales rose 16.8% to KRW52.9T from KRW45.3T, coming in in line with the company's guidance of KRW51T to KRW53T. The results stand in stark contrast those of Apple (AAPL), which earlier this week reported its first profit drop in a decade and forecast margins to decline in the current quarter ending in June. [View news story]
It's obvious that you guy's at Seeking Alpha make more money on getting reactions from people when you slate Apple, therefore I think people should realise that the web site is only here to stir up people's feelings to get a reaction and therefore the sites perceived popularity, why else would I get 10 Emails a day about Apple that amount to nothing more than negative innuendo and hearsay......! Stay away from this site people until they are capable of giving out timely and useful info about Apple.

  • In Defense Of Apple: Battling The Mounting Hysteria [View article]
Thank you, about time there was some rational analysis to counter the months of over criticism on a growing company. It's no wonder the economy is in such a dire straight when companies who do well, $54B revenue with excellent profits can still be slated by people who's contribution to innovation is to change the font on their emails.....!

  • Apple's (AAPL) stringent policies with telecom carriers - including minimum sales requirements - and the iPhone's high price and its technical needs, are preventing the company from addressing a market of 2.8B customers, research firm Asymco.com estimates. Tellingly, Apple has signed fewer than a dozen new carriers since September 2011, helping to explain the device's slowing growth and Samsung's (SSNLF.PK) increasing dominance. [View news story]
