  • BlackBerry Down 5% On Morgan Stanley Downgrade - Gift Of A Dip? [View article]
In the brokerage business advisor are require to disclose whether they have either a short or long position in the securities they make recommendations to their clients, I wonder whether MS discloses whether they hold significant short positions for their clients and their downgrade may help to put some of them back in proper margin positions??

  • MannKind: Massive Short Interest Could Lead To Big Gains [View article]
shorts are largely informed money, as the risk is usually much higher than the easy longs, find the main reason behind the short interest, and you will than be able to invest with confidence versus hope and expectations. Move the probabilities in your favour.

I guess as investments go when things change I change, but it is interesting to see how many analyst's try to find things that fit there bias, in spite of the reality.

  • Questcor tumbles as NY Attorney's Office joins Pennsylvania investigation [View news story]
My wife had control of the flicky and thus I had to watch The Good Wife while I was doing my investment homework. The series dealt with backdoor pressures and influence, I turned to my wife and said they did a good job outlining what can go on in the justice dept that can influence share prices and push other people agendas. This action on QCOR looks so much like this. I own deep in the money long term option, thus I will watch whether previous up gaps hold and let this smoke settle before making any brash decisions. I wud suggest buy this move and carry a tight stop for a good trade. Hold a core position with normal stops.

Snap'in this reads like a conspiracy theory on the twin towers, you almost think the writers were short the stock. There must be other reasons not to like the stock?

  • Silicon Motion Could Be The Next Himax [View article]
Rally into the 30 day which is the high from the reaction low, formed a great low risk aggressive in the money ($12) long PUT buy. looks like a payback this morning.

Loved the article but a reversal in a downtrend usually takes some time, and now it will take more time.

  • Zalicus: Renewing Partnership With Novartis Will Be Vital For 2013 Revenues [View article]
Great comments in helping access a catalyst that could either break the current sideways technical picture. As this coils tighter the spring should be set for a large % move either way. Your guess is as good as anybody's, but if the Novartis partnership is/not extended that would obviously be a springboard catalyst -plop or hop. To bad there was options available as a straddle would be a great strategy on this.

  • Quescor: Trading Based On Negative Speculations Rather Than Positive Financials [View article]
Jim Cramer repeats every now and then to stay away, I think he liked it one time got burned on the decline and now his bias is against it. Most investors want something they have sold to stay down, it makes them feel they were right to sell. Like all cycles, only when they see it at new highs do they think about changing their opinion.
I have added a position again today with protective stops below $30, this has been a great channel mover. I have no idea of the outcome, but I expect continue volatility.
Thanks for the review and commentary.

  • Does the surge in gold mining stocks mean the bottom is in? Gold futures finish flat after a two-day climb, but the big story in recent sessions hasn't been the physical gold as much as the miners. The mining ETF (GDX +3.9%) is surging nearly 4% today, but that's after a ~20% YTD selloff. Today, miners are broadly higher: RGLD +4.5%, AEM +4.3%, ABX +3.9%, KGC +3.8%, GG +4.1%, NEM +3.3%[View news story]
    Sung to white x-mas...
I'm dreaming of a gold miners bottom, just like the bottoms I've seen before.
May the volume pick up and your fortunes reverse ...
Though I know a small rebound is not a trend.

I'll wait for the bigger trend to get establish

  • Diamond Turnaround Coming [View article]
This is like following Blackberry, if, could, may, depends, etc. Out of favour and a gradual increase in short selling (7.7 days volume to cover). I am long but with tight stops, hopefully they won't disappoint, what longs they have now. Targetting top of gap near $19.risking a close below $14.50

  • BlackBerry's Blunder In India [View article]
Good article, I assume you have quantified data, but i will add India is no different than any other country of humans, "I got the best as it shows my high status and wealth image."
No different then the love Americans have with buying a car to big and to costly for their wallet, but it sure feels good.

  • Cirrus Logic: A Case Of Mistaken Identity [View article]
Apple trades at 10.1 PE and CRUS now at 10.5, I guess they are now close to equilibrium.
But gap buying and selling has done me well and I suggest the gap at $23.30 (April 25) was tested yesterday at $23.60. Entry yesterday with tight stops may prove profitable, especially if it can run back to the $31 down gap.. If your bullish bias is supportive I will take that too.
PS: warning there are gaps as low as $17 so it is possible the stock eventually gets there.

    Continued success thanks

  • Amazon Already Has Optimism Priced In, It's Fundamentally Overpriced [View article]
Todd, I would not argue with anyone their analysis but I have made money on the Amazon's of the world because a of a few set-ups that has keep me in or out at times. -the trend is your friend,
positioning sizing, knowing my exits, sentiment such as short positions, number of puts versus calls and number of negative articles versus positives. I was knocked out of Amazon back in late October since than Amazon has really been in a sideways market and Ebay near the same time gave investors a great entry point after breaking out of a sideways pattern. Go with a trend until it ends.

•, One Year Later [View article]
Hi Paulo, I would like to add my insight, Amazing (nickname) has had a large put option buyers community for some time, from a contrarian viewpoint has help support the stock. Also the longs are mostly institutional money and some of them hedge by selling calls/puts and buying some put protection. Just look at the 230/35 area. This has help myself as a tool to buy puts /calls and cover as we near high interest strike levels. There is no doubt the fundamentals will eventually catch up on these bullish analysts opinions and at that time the trend will surely have changed.
Picking the top won't make money(consistently), finding the trend wins more often.
