$AAPL: How are you supposed to take analyst ratings seriously when their up/downgrades always come after serious stock movement?

    • Eld: who cares of analyst ratings anyway?

    • Wynnnn: most analysts are idiots. i never take them serious.. always downgrade after the selling is done, and upgrade after rally is over.

    • ShadowTS: I agree with Wynnnn. During the ganuary-september rally everyone said SELL and during 2nd part of the decline (600-450) everyone said BUY

    • Arkeh Capital: Investors move ahead of data releases, analysts review models post data releases. Most of the price action has happened by then.

    • Arkeh Capital: Analyst should analyse companies, investor should anticipate what other investors do. This is not the same.

    • DumpsterDiver: ...which explains why their ratings are always "Should have bought" or "Should have sold," rather than a present-tense imperative. Oh, wait.

    • arudnicki415: ArKeh, very valid point, to which I say DumpsterDiver has a far better reply than I would have
