Interesting and controversial take. I respectively disagree. Why? Communicating with credibility and the gender gap. Public Web 2.0 accounts for C-level women executives are still risky. According to research, while a male executive with a family picture on his desk is deemed responsible and credible, a woman executive displaying family photos is thought to be putting her family first. Besides -- exceptional marketers need not be heavy brand users. The best marketers serve as the voice of the customer, gathering insights and championing change as necessary. Some examples: A successful P&G Pampers brand manager may not have kids. A Medtronic marketing director (God willing!) may never need a stint.
