Agree with you Robert. More than just the writer should be answerable. No doubt this comment will be pulled.

I bet you don't have the courage to argue your point.

  • Gold- Buffett And Morgan Stanley Agree [View article]
I apologise for the brevity of my question. How is it possible for the answer to anything to be both "black" and "white"? There is only one question that would fit the bill and that includes the word "opposite". Someone is wrong with regard to gold and it could be a matter of life and death!

  • Galena Biopharma: 3 Different Insiders Have Sold Shares This Year [View article]
This article is a complete waste of time. Insider selling means absolutely nothing as the reasons are not known. Surely this contributor's motives are suspect.

  • Galena Biopharma -6.4% as Jim Cramer says take profits [View news story]
Very sad. So obviously an effort to back up his short position. Now I know not to take even the time of day as truth from J.C.(Is there some hidden meaning in his initials? Must take another look at The Omen)!

  • Galena rallies, article calls pipeline "rich" [View news story]
I have been in and out of Galena for about 2 years and now hold a very modest number of shares. Thinking of adding more when other shares show a good profit. Just looking for a crystal ball so I can get my timings right!

  • GLD: When Will The Gold Bugs Give In? [View article]
    Mr Cox,
Your reply to my prediction that there will never be any tapering smacks of ridicule! A very childish response from someone who is apparently a professional in the field of finance. Maybe your real gifts lie elsewhere. Let us take your comments to Chiipy-Nostradamus as the opening gambit in your defence of all things reasonable. You say "It is amazing to me that we still consider a metal with very few practical applications to be so valuable." I would welcome your response to "The value of having a religion in which one can believe with all one's heart, indeed for which one is quite willing to fight and lay down one's life, is that all other considerations existing in this world are as nothing." This sentiment, possessed by countless people around the world, is based on what? The fact that there are so many practical applications for religion? The proof that there is a god being that when hundreds of thousands of people are killed by natural disasters, if one person is pulled from the rubble it is declared to be "a miracle".
It is not the fact that there are very few uses for something that gives it value; it is the belief in it's "worth" that matters. When fiat money is being debased to the extent it is, gold is one of the few "real" things that people will turn to.

  • With no CTFC reports, look to ETF flows for gold [View news story]
It is absolute rubbish to link paper movement to movement of gold and therefore prices. If people awakened and realised that this is one bad mad hatter's tea party trick, those of us who hold the real thing would be witness to the fact that our gold has not moved from one room to another, that it is still in our safes and that the "shrinking pill" is in fact a laxative. As you say, ddearborn, "hold onto your hats and tighten your bike clips!"

  • Gold sell-off tied to single trade: Nanex [View news story]
This is one more example of Pinnochio's nose getting longer and longer as he tries to sell stuff he doesn't own. As I believe in Santa Clause and the tooth fairy and god, I'm bound to believe that these trades are backed by gold!

  • Fitch says gold rebound unlikely, gold miners in broad plunge [View news story]
Just a few observations from an old retiree who hopes to have some fun whilst building a good nest-egg for his granddaughters (who will hopefully earn more in a few short years than he did during all his working years, if their university educations are worth the cost and time). I think you are correct, Mike, and state the obvious (at least to some of us) when you say that making the right investment calls is not easy. There are times, however, when an opportunity to buy low sticks out like a sore thumb and I believe we are fast approaching such a signal in the gold market. With huge buying of a comparatively finite store of wealth leading to a severe shortage of physical gold in the near future, it will be inevitable that paper promises will go up in smoke. Manipulation of the financial markets (of which there are many varied examples) can only be supported, by the lackeys of those who, mainly through incompetence and greed, keep twisting, ad infinitum, because of the fear of having to show their hands, for a limited amount of time. I'm sure there are many poo-pooers who can argue with great technical abilities that all this is just the meandering mumblings of an old loon but at least I retain some appreciation of what is truly valuable on this earth. I've never watched Big Brother!

  • StemCells slides after pricing offering [View news story]
Thanks for your reply. I fully intend to hold onto my shares, if not add to them but it is all very galling that existing holders are not given the opportunity, say in a rights issue, to obtain some initial benefit (notwithstanding the future promise of a great company performance).Just an observation from a member of "the underclasses", stratospherically speaking!

  • Precious metals reverse yesterday's plunge [View news story]
There is a case in point. Might as well be talking about potatoes or plastic bags. Complete lack of appreciation of what is "worthwhile".
