  • Apple (AAPL -5.8%) has hit levels last seen in Dec. '11 following Cirrus Logic's warning and a Digitimes report about declining iPad Mini shipments. Cross Research calls Cirrus' warning "a reminder of weakening demand, and the challenges around product transitions" for Apple. Tero Kuittinen, noting sub-30M June quarter iPhone sales estimates and worries about the margin impact of emerging markets promotions, thinks "several nightmare scenarios have been priced in." "The naked fear of former Apple bulls is exactly what we need just before the earnings come out." [View news story]

  • Apple Is Not Worth Less Than Microsoft [View article]
    What I gather is:

The stock price has gone way down because of rumor that mini sales have been 20% less than someone has forecast.

The reason given is that everyone is waiting for the latest mini.

Now that the loss has been anticipated, we have two possibilities:

    1. The rumor is not true.

    2. The rumor is true, but that those sales will be made up with the new mini.

So, there is no really bad news, just stuff interpreted to push the stock down. The purpose is either to satisfy short sales, or to make it possible to buy cheap.

Both those results will mean pent up future buying.

If Bloomberg would add a streaming NASDAQ, I would never again watch CNBC.

  • Apple: Would You Be Okay With A Kitchen Sink Quarter? [View article]
They say "buy on the good rumor, and sell on the good news".

How about reversing re: bad rumor and bad news ?

Then, you should sell on the bad rumor and buy on the bad news.

We shall hear the news shortly...

  • Should Apple Buy Back Shares Or Increase Dividends? [View article]
To exaggerate a bit: I wish Apple would buy back all the stock except mine. Then I would be sole owner of Apple.

  • 5 Reasons You Should Buy Apple Despite Its Fall From Grace [View article]
I'm sure the author didn't mean to compare Apple to some "nameless" Hollywood star.

Apple's not nameless; it sells more every day than the best Hollywood star.

  • Why I Would Sell Apple If It Rehires Ron Johnson [View article]
Why don't we leave the driving to Apple.

I am satisfied, and I buy Apple stock every day.

  • Apple Should Pay Its Tax Bill [View article]
Nothing is "locked up in the Cayman Islands". It's only paper. The money goes right out wherever the owner wants. Ask Mit Romney.
    He'll explain it to you.

  • Apple Should Pay Its Tax Bill [View article]
    Here's a solution:

Apple opens an account for each stockholder in Cayman Islands, like Romney and Ernst & Young International, Apple's accountants.

Then distributes Apple foreign profits into those accounts. Then all Apple stockholders will become "Great American Billionaires" and run for office.

  • Apple Should Rehire Ron Johnson For Its Own Good [View article]
I agree with SaintSense, Apple has more to gain getting that winning team back together. Winners don't care who gets the credit.

  • Apple Should Rehire Ron Johnson For Its Own Good [View article]
You are correct. If Apple hires Johnson back, it will rehabilitate Johnson's reputation and also show other Apple executives that the "Blue Bird of happiness" is right at home.

It also shows the generosity of spirit at Apple. And, of course, Johnson was good for Apple, and much more to do; thousands of stores to open all over the globe.

As to Samsung departments in Best Buy stores: it's a double negative. The association will hurt both of them. Seems like capitulation for both.

  • A Different Perspective On Apple's Valuation [View article]
Increase in growth ! Think about that !

Growth is growth. If you owned a company this size and it kept growing, you would one day own all the money in the market.

We haven't thought about this since F. Scott Fitzgerald's "Diamond as Big as the Ritz.

In a few years the money that Apple's money earns will equal its present annual earnings.

  • Analyzing Apple From An Absolute And Relative Value Standpoint [View article]
The mere fact that Apple isn't boosting the stock, is the proof that they aren't playing for a fast buck in the stock price.

How are the products? That's all that counts.

In the long run great fortunes are made by people who find a great company and buy, buy, and put away.

I try to buy a little Apple every day.

Don't listen to the wheeler dealers who are short today and gone tomorrow !

  • Google (GOOG) partners with top Silicon Valley VC firms Andreessen Horowitz and Kleiner Perkins to launch the Glass Collective, a program providing seed funding to startups developing hardware/software meant to work with Google Glass. "The thesis of Glass is profoundly transformational — to integrate connectivity and information directly into your field of vision and into your normal daily life," writes VC/Netscape co-founder Marc Andreessen, who compares Glass' potential impact to the web browser. The effort comes a month after Google showed off its first Glass apps[View news story]
    This glass-in-two devices is confusing.

The main beauty of Apple is the uncanny simplicity of their combination into a lovely device.

If you have to wear glasses and carry a phone, and if you don't misplace one or the other, you'll return to an iPhone.

  • Apple's Story: Only The Beginning? [View article]
The prospect of Apple continuing to produce older models of iPhones (presently iPone 4, 4s, 5, then 5s, and so on}. at far lower cost than originally...And then those older models pushing out the cheap stuff made by copy-cats...That prospect shows that it is possible that tthe future contains 90% iPhones.

Look for Tiffany coming out with gold and diamond encrusted Apple iPhones for "prestige".

You are right, there is much negative rumor circulated. Also stock manipulation and official cover-up. Why? Who's behind it? What happened in the "unnamed securities/broker short sales by David Miller of Rochdale Securities re Apple stock. LOOK IT UP...News blackout !
