  • Kinder Morgan: A Savvy Acquisition [View article]
Everything seems to rest on the future price of fuel.

The present low price is the result of producers deciding not to cut back.

It is not in their long term interest to keep the price down.

When they have done enough damage, they will resume forcing the price up.

    What an excellent report !
I am going to reread it.
Too much to absorb in the first reading.

  • Setting Up Apple's Amazing 2015 [View article]
In 2015/2016 I expect Apple to offer a complete TV experience.
A giant "iphone" on the wall. This will replace (cannibalize) the TV set, Cable, Satellites, ground phones, and cell phones. The remote will have a keyboard, and will allow the screen to do multiple simultaneous activities: watch a movie while watching a ball game, while writing an email, while monitoring the owners' health, while watching the stock market, while keeping an eye on the house and the baby.

Blair has been consistently and reliably wrong.

Why use up the space to print his misleading and inaccurate opinions ?

Just to create irritation and pointless discussion ?

Innocent first-time readers and investors could well lose their shirts trying to swim upstream along with Blair.

If Blair followed his own "advice" he'd be broke and shirtless now.

In doing this alpha is not performing a service to investors.

  • Apple falls towards $107 amid tech selloff, downgrade [View news story]
If Apple raises the dividend (which it can do easily), you'll see all "the smart money" suddenly buying like crazy. Yet, it will be the exact same company.

  • Apple up 2.4% following Credit Suisse upgrade [View news story]
I never see mention of the Apple TV. Consumers are so sick of cable and satellites. They would embrace any substitute that was reliable and didn't soak them.

  • Poll: Only 5.4% of U.S. iPhone owners "very likely" to buy Apple Watch [View news story]
Unless you don't sleep, you can charge your Apple watch every night.

The watch may become a fad. Having been in advertising starting in 1954, I've seen fads go wild. The wrist is a natural place to have a "conversation piece".

The watch may prove to sell the iphone ! That's a win win for Apple.

The medical aspect of constant monitoring can be a necessity for seniors and young people concerned about their health or just wishing to have the latest thing.

Can you imagine a dinner party where everyone has an Apple watch but you ?

  • The Storage Lawsuit Against Apple Is Beyond Frivolous [View article]
It is about time for Apple to get to the bottom of these events. Some good detectives and lawyers might discover what is behind these trumped up and obviously uncalled for attacks.

The new sales quarter report may introduce a whole new phase.

If the price then goes through $130, there will be a breakout to $150.

  • Morgan Stanley upbeat about Q4 iPhone sales; BBC probes labor practices [View news story]
    UncleFred:

    That would require repatriated dollars.

That question, across the board, of repatriating US corporate dollars, should be addressed by the US gov..

With a surtax of, say, 10%; most American companies would most likely accede. This would bring some $130B to Apple...and would amount to a tremendous coup for the government to reduce the trade balance and to collect "windfall" tax money.

American companies would be able to use this "frozen" money here in the US helping our economy. The total amount is "mind boggling".

  • Chevron: I Revise My $150 Price Target Due To Lower Oil Prices [View article]
I meant the CAUSE was artificial...like OPEC would normally reduce production.

Also, "reduced industry spending" occurs when production goes down. So, profits aren't going to be hurt by as much as noted.

I believe the pendulum will swing too far the other way, and we will have $100 oil. There will be the fall-out of the current low prices: consolidation, bankruptcies, nationalization, wars, and, finally, organized reduction of production.

    It's all happened before.

The drastic drop was artificial, and the future rise will also be created.

I look for $100 a year from now.

    Andym...

You write like a trader, going in and out...SHORT TERM.

When dealing with a solid balance sheet unusually rich company with great future; you would come out better just buying every week, and putting the stock away.

You say you should have sold at 700 and bought at 400. Only a possible couple people in the whole millions of stockholders did that. Even those one or two who unluckily BOUGHT at 700 are up 10% today.

That is the beauty of great stock picking. Never buy any stock you wouldn't want to be in bed with the next ten years. And, conversely, never pick a stock for a one-night stand. (Unless, of course, you are an insider, and have friends and lobbyists in Washington).

  • Buy Signals Triggered Today In Apple [View article]
Author: "...Apple is a little rich, but not abnormally so..."

Aside from the current earnings and projected earnings, there is a cache of $165B.

Would you say that was a lot rich and abnormal.

    How much is "normal" ?
