Getting Caught in the Trap? Evaluating Silverleaf Resorts (Part II) [View article]
They are still using sneaky hard sell tactics. I signed up for a prize giveaway at a trade show. I got a call from one of their representatives through AVR. They talked me into coming out on a specific day to see a resort at lake palestine and pick up my prize whatever that was. There was no mention of Silverleaf Resorts in the call. When I recieved the confirmation, I saw the silverleaf name. I then looked it up on the internet and found this and other sites with warnings. I made a call to cancel my visit. I spent 30 minutes trying to cancel, but the person on the phone refused to accept the cancellation. She kept hard selling me on keeping the appointment. As we went on and I kept dodging, and demanding cancellation, she got more and more aggressive and hostile. I finally had to hang up. Don't have anything to do with Silverleaf, AVR or any of their related companies. Their tactics are not right. It is not worth going through what they will put you through. Run away or get away as quick as you can!
