  • Has 9.4% Dividend BreitBurn Energy Bottomed? [View article]
Now Monday June 29. Greece banks closing, oil down, Dow futures down, and BBEP is way under $5 and falling.

Glad I switched to the bonds in the low 70's.

As downtown above points out, they are still a good buy in the high 80's.

  • Breitburn Has A Series Of Bonds Yielding Over 11% [View article]
Your article may have caught the attention of many. My 73 purchase is now 90.

So the yields are now down, but still very good.

Linn bonds however is sliding again. They have some 7.75 that are selling in the low 80's.

I may add more of these.

  • Transocean Partners Yields 10% And Provides A 'Safe' Offshore Play [View article]
I looked at Rigp and sdlp. I chose sdlp as they have more ships, a better backlog, and their distribution appears quite safe for a couple of years.

Finally at the price I bought sdlp, my yields are much better than Rigp.

That said I agree with the analysis here.

    Thanks Anthony.

  • Linn Energy: Staying On The Sidelines [View article]
I bought LINE many years ago at $12.25, and reaped over $15 in distributions. When lnco came and and traded for almost $2 less I rolled into that, and rode the stock down to $15, then began selling calls. When most of that was taken at $12.50, I bought their bonds.

Own a couple of series that pay quite well, and actually have a decent gain in just a few short months.

line has not been managed that well for a while.

They paid way too much for Berry.

That should have been a clue for all to exit.

Reminds me of Getty oil selling to Texaco, and then Texaco going bankrupt.

While I do not foresee Line going bk, it is quite possible.

If so my bonds Are fairly well protected with their assets.

Finally, I generally like the SA forum, and often learn a lot, but please try and stay civil.

This forum should not be like a Jerry springer show.

SA should be like an amateur CNBC.

And sometimes we amateurs look better than those on that show, but they stay professional with their comments.

    We should here also.

  • SandRidge Energy Preferred Convertible: A 21% Yield Paid In Shares Of SD Common [View article]
As a creditor, One has a lot better standing than any stockholder.

I checked today. The 8.125% bonds I sold just one month ago for 71.25 is trading under 50.

I'll renter sd maybe a year from now if it is still alive.

  • Why Teekay Tankers Stock Is A Buy Right Now [View article]
Wow two more months of good potential.

I bought at 2.76 years ago, sold $5 calls for 50 cents. Glad to say good bye.

As oil prices increase their operating costs go way up, and their revenue declines.

The tanker business is not for the feint of heart.

Spot rates are very volatile, and contracts are almost useless.

Tnk may run for a while, but it is a stock to trade in, not invest.

A dead cat bounce is not indicative of future viability.

To follow SD one should follow the bonds. They are not bouncing upwardly.

Absolutely agree that one should not invest unless you like the management.

Also like your floating cork comment, and agree.

  • Breitburn Has A Series Of Bonds Yielding Over 11% [View article]
The why is referring to loop's suggestion that I sell the bonds.

I think BBEP will survive therefor the bonds should be a great investment.
