For the Fed's Credibility, It's Time for a Fire Drill [View article]
It wasnt about raising interest rates any time soon - it was about jawboning the dollar as yet another 'bridge' to keep it afloat, hopefully until such time as that magical (and likely nonexistant) condition arises where they can safely start puttin the breaks on.
Its just another bridge over another chasm -- just like TARP et al. I fear its just another bridge whose span is too short.
But hey - I read SA, and so am exposed to all the accurate, depressing stuff -- anyone got any koolaid ?
Friday Outlook: Commodities, Global Markets [View article]
I think (and see) that while alot of main street might be hurting, they have no /clue/ of the absolute peril we are in -- and dont wanna hear about it.
Any attempt to explain it and you get that 'you must be one of those kooks' syndrome.
A note on how a weak dollar supposedly helps net debtors -- From an individual perspective it doesnt, because wage inflation always lags strongly in an inflationary environment.
The consumer just gets devalued, and is the last to feel /anything/ positive from inflation.
Stimulus Can't Save the Stock Market [View article]
Nobodys saying the mess is Obamas fault -- Obama is just carrying on the tradition.
He campaigned on change we could belive in, and a basically centrist stance -- then took a hard left turn when he got in office, and has paid off many of his various constituencies/supporters in teh guise of stimulus.
Please. Theyre all despicable crooks. Obama is jsut another in a long line. hed be a great used-car salesman though !

Ahh what to buy or sell -- thats the question -- a question that theres usually an answer to - but in this case, there is none.
I think we are in for another wave of deflation-realization. Therefore, im out of commodities and foreign currencies (for the most part), and in the dollar.
Gotta be nimble though - when money starts flowing the dollar and bonds are gonna be /crushed/.
I see deflation. Hell its right in front of our noses. My only and best choice is cash -- the rest is too risky, as all assets could fall (again), in a correlated manner.
Markets Aren't as Benign as They Look [View article]
Obama is wondering how he can 'refine his message' so the American people will buy off on his programs -- in other words hes wondering what lies he can come up with that will work.
Washington's Dilemma: This Isn't a Recession, It's a Collapse [View article]
No - ur right - NO APPRECIABLE JOBS will be the reason we collapse, as there will be a declining salary base to pay for all the B.S. and crony giveaways.
Why is it those who are looking at the facts of this ordeal are called whiners ?
Id rather be accused of being a whiner than of being completely /blind/.
3 Reasons to Be Invested in Stocks Right Now [View article]
Yeah - companies are doing /great/ navigating this tough economic environment -- their cost-cutting has kept their heads above water, and their earnings above expectations !
Just think - if they /keep/ cutting costs (laying people off), they could go to the mooooon !
