Mr. Market Should Be Looking At Apple's Cash Flow Rather Than Its Profits [View article]
What good is all that cash sitting on the books if you are not doing anything with it?
Are competitors maturing to the point where they are becoming a bit more competitive?
Is the 100 dollar phones being sold in China going to limit Apple's growth there?
Are today's published findings of child labor abuses at the manufacturing plants really being handled appropriately and do you want to own a company that is not taking enough action to finally put an end to this practice?
Commodity Chart Of The Day: Natural Gas [View article]
I am looking longer term for natural gas play for my retirement (10 years down the road) that I can dollar cost average. Can anyone recommend some companies in which to invest in that are pure natural gas plays with great balance sheets? With the potential for LNG exports and closing of coal fired plants coming into play I think prices will eventually turn higher.
I see a lot of articles about the short term aspect of natural gas but lets face it, with the growing consumption for energy in places like China and India and new regulations to get away from coal I think NG should be a good long term investment.
My Favorite MLPs Based On The New Tax Rules [View article]
New to MLP's and was wondering if anyone could answer the following:
Can you purchase MLP's using direct purchase plans to avoid brokerage fees?
Do MLP's offer direct reinvestment plans (DRIP's) to avoid fees?
From what I am reading it looks like people are purchasing MLP's for a monthly income. But what if I want to invest in them now so that I can have a nice nest egg when I retire in 10 years; can I chose to have the distributions put right back into purchasing more units and avoid any k-1 forms and allow the MLP to grow by compounding the annual interest? If so how do I select this option when purchasing the MLP?

Can anyone help me with regards to direct purchase plans (DPP's) for MLP's and can you tell me what MLP's have direct reinvestment plans (DRIP's) so that I can minimize the cost of brokerage fees as the nest egg builds up? I cannot seem to find a good site that discusses this?
First-Half Lessons For MLP Investors [View article]
I have just started looking into MLP's for a retirement income (10 years to go). Any help on how to own something like KYE directly and utilize a DRIP to avoid all these fees? Any others you folks think I should look at?
Winter Is Coming - Natural Gas Prices Must Rise [View article]
Can you and your readers suggest any pure gas plays that I might add to my portfolio for very long term plays? I want to have natural gas in my retirement portfolio with a dividend reinvestment plans as well as growth.
Unfortunately, what has been going on with CHK has really got me worried as to what is really going on in the natural gas industry and who is legit these days. In addition, debt levels have been high for some of the leaders in natural gas. I think pure natural gas plays will have a place in my portfolio for retirement but the average retailer (looking out a dozen years or so) have been turned off by recent events.
Long-term unemployment may be falling, with the number of people out of work for 27 weeks or more dropping 13% Y/Y in May to 5.4M. "More people may be getting impatient and taking lesser positions," says employment expert Philip Noftsinger. The stats could also be hiding lower workforce participation as older people retire or study for degrees. [View news story]
Or it could be that people are no longer being counted because they are no longer receiving unemployment benefits. What is even more shocking is the number of people collecting disability benefits due to stress of being...guess what..unemployed for so long. It has skyrocketed.
COSTELLO: I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America. ABBOTT: Good Subject. Terrible Times. It's 8.2%. COSTELLO: That many people are out of work? ABBOTT: No, that's 18% COSTELLO: You just said 8.2%. ABBOTT: 8.2% Unemployed. COSTELLO: Right 8.2% out of work. ABBOTT: No, that's 18%. COSTELLO: Okay, so it's 18% unemployed. ABBOTT: No, that's 8.2%... COSTELLO: WAIT A MINUTE. Is it 8.2% or 18%? ABBOTT: 8.2% are unemployed. 18% are out of work. COSTELLO: IF you are out of work you are unemployed. ABBOTT: No, you can't count the "Out of Work" as the unemployed. You have to look for work to be unemployed. COSTELLO: BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK!!! ABBOTT: No, you miss my point. COSTELLO: What point? ABBOTT: Someone who doesn't look for work, can't be counted with those who look for work. It wouldn't be fair. COSTELLO: To who? ABBOTT: The unemployed. COSTELLO: But they are ALL out of work. ABBOTT: No, the unemployed are actively looking for work... Those who are out of work stopped looking. They gave up. And, if you give up, you are no longer in the ranks of the unemployed. COSTELLO: So if you're off the unemployment roles, that would count as less unemployment? ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down. Absolutely! COSTELLO: The unemployment just goes down because you don't look for work? ABBOTT: Absolutely it goes down. That's how you get to 8.2%. Otherwise it would be 18%. You don't want to read about 18% unemployment do ya? COSTELLO: That would be frightening. ABBOTT: Absolutely. COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means they're two ways to bring down the unemployment number? ABBOTT: Two ways is correct. COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job? ABBOTT: Correct. COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop looking for a job? ABBOTT: Bingo. COSTELLO: So there are two ways to bring unemployment down, and the easier of the two is to just stop looking for work. ABBOTT: Now you're thinking like a Bankster. COSTELLO: I don't even know what the hell I just said!

Do you have any recommendations with regards to what natural gas companies to look at for long term investments? I'd like to start accumulating over the next 10 years for something that will pay off after that?

They keep adjusting "expectations" so that in itself is a moving target. Remember when they were talking 225,000 needed to be created just to have a positive number for growth in employment? Now they are happy with 150k. What the hell gives?
Pretty sad when we have to have another installment on QE to prop up the stock market. All this expectations of the Fed giving us QE's is going to bite us in the ass one of these days because they won't be able to prop up wallstreet. The markets need to clear.

I have seen many publish here stating that debt levels for some of these suggested companies are way too high. What is a good criteria for a natural gas company for debt levels being to high? Any other criteria that you use to make your decision as to whether or not to buy the stock would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Any recommendations on a pure gas stock that I can sock away for a long time? I know it will eventually come back but I think buying here for the long term investment (10 years down the road) on a good natural gas stock might be a good investment strategy.
