I hate apple and think they make over priced junk for ninnys, tesla on the hand is everything apple is portrayed to be but for real not just an amzing cult like marketing campaign. but i agree lots people think apple is something special when most of the time they steal from every one put it in a pretty package jack the price sky high and then market it as if the most amazing thing since sliced bread. Apple is an amazing marketing company.

    KoacNation: WOW just WOW,

no it's not CRV size at all, comparing Tesla to other car makers makes as much sense as comparing apple to Smith-corona in the 1980. using apple again owning apple from 1997 to 2003 was pretty poor too but bet you wish you bought it then and still had it (or someone you knew since you're younger i gauge). Your logic can as easily be summed up with ''flawed'' or just plain stupid as that's more fitting.
Please spare us the ''no one even heard of the company'' nope wrong again some of us give a crap about our planet on a large scale not just the little bubble we surround are self in, we heard and knew of Tesla before Musk was there. I myself used to think a lot like you when it was in the 30s but I spent alot of time reading and studying and bought the day it started to go ''after hours'' in the low 60s.. i remember that day really well i made 1000s in minutes. The more i study the company and it's prospects the more it looks like nothing else on the investment horizon in decades, its looking like a Microsoft of manufacturing where you use a better/new technology and essentially hog tie the consumer into using your product because the scale and scope makes using anything else hard or pointless. Can they still fail, well yeah of course but the marketcap isn't 30B because this is a hot ipo, its not 30B because of Musk's tweets, it's not 30B because it's being pumped by everyone, it's 30B because smart money sees it's scaleability in a 3T dollar industry, it's 30B because electric cars can and will have much higher margins than ICEs. Now most the bears agree moving toward electric is the future and when prices are equal agree all companies will be electric car manufactures

you are scary uninformed and you are going to pay the price for being so ignorant with your investments (believe me i know from experience). I hope you're good at riding the volatility and can profit but my guess is you'll be taking it on the chin.

tomfrompv: the answer of course is yes becasue if they are selling 375K cars a year 5 years from now they will be very profitable and be leading the pack by double digits.

what i don't get about all of you bears (though it's a poor term to describe you all collectively) agree that electric is superior, we will be transitioning over the next couple a of decades, and the competition will pounce once the time is right.

basically i want to know from the most vocal when do you think Tesla will become insolvent and be sold to another company and or file for bankruptcy? If you don't have date or at least a general time frame (i.e. around 2018) then you are some of the largest hypocritical haters roaming this planet. From my daily reading of the comments for the past 3 years i assume the latter.

If you can't give a date or likely scenario then you should quit attempting to call the bulls out when they don't have exact numbers to the nearest 100s for production for the next 5 years. Why are people that are consistently proven wrong unable to come up with anything other than strawmen and red herrings?

  • Tesla: The Model X Is Made For Rare Women [View article]
''No, we live the winter months as normally as possible. And on those cold blustery days, we get really good at racing to the car and jumping in within about 1.5 seconds. ''

umm err wait i thought you had to clean off that snow? you can't even make coherent arguments with yourself, i hope you're retired, your're a serious danger with your logic. Wild idea here, if you live where the weather is consistently that horrid the MX is probably a poor choice unless you have garaging, same probably true of buying convertible to drive year round in Alaska... jeez make up some more crazy ideas that fit only your delusions and make it the rule.

oh and I see VW is doing great, that quick 7% you made must be like 20% now.. only problem is it's negative..

  • Apple In The Enterprise: Investors Shouldn't Get Excited Yet [View article]
you apple people are nuts, the ipad pro is ridiculous with no mouse but a keyboard interface like a laptop. I thought touch screen laptops were stoopid? I just wish I could understadn paying twice as much for something that does less and forces you to buy more overpriced stuff. The software isn't that much better and in many cases it's worse. I believe a lot of enterprises of large scale are going to regret getting sucked into this apple crap and revolt to google and Microsoft they're old buddy (microsoft is nobuddies buddy). It will be something and I will be impressed if the ipad starts to grow again, from my view point it's all down hill from here, the larger screen and stylus are hardly anything worth getting excited about for future adaptation of the platform.

  • Tesla: A Realistic Look At The Model 3 [View article]

nice, but apple is a horrible company( i am talking for the consumer), they are like a relgion which is fine and dandy but their products often suffer after initial revolutionizing innovation to hard protective ''we know best'' protectionism. We are clearly seeing this cycle play out in front of us right now. How much longer will apple be the best thing since sliced bread? maybe 5 years maybe 10 it's a guess. I can assure you an Apple car if anything like apples other products in terms a quality and price/performance ratio will fail horribly. Trying to pretend a Chinese (or any cut rate manufacturing country) will be able to make cars like they make electronics is CRAZY. Hope Apple does jump in with both feet, my guess is they will drown and thankfully the world will be released of the beast that is apple.

  • Tesla Vs. The Lithium Oligopoly [View article]
robinv: ''Why can't we just discuss the facts. It's pretty clear what this discussion is about ''

well because the only bears left (or at least the ones that show up every time) are impossible to argue with, it's like agreeing with someone about directions to get from point A to point B then when you get in the car the other party drives to point C then insults you and says ''see I told you we would get lost''. i.e. the bears are morons, shills, ignorant or butt hurt from consistently losing money in the short game. eitherway your (bear) opinions are ''facts'', real facts are a bulls ''opinions'' and bull facts are delusions of a space colony on Mars powered by good feelings, that about pegs it.

some of us that are not shills know the lithium argument like the rare earth metals argument is nonsense and has no bearing on wether or not millions of lithium powered BEVs can be made or not. It's like saying GM, Ford or any other major auto is in deep trouble because there are only a few steel/iron ore producers. clearly trivial in scale of things.
