  • Microsoft's Mobile Business Will Recover Soon [View article]
they haven't made a penny on the millions of phones they've sold. They keep losing money on marketing and paying all those Nokia people. They may be gaining presence, but they won't be making any money soon

  • Threshold (Windows 9) Expected: How Much Is A Free Operating System Worth? [View article]
Windows 8.1 is a combination of TWO interfaces. Throwing TWO interfaces on people who have been using ONE interface since Win 3.1 was a dumb idea.

And if their OS is so great, why not have an option to pick ONE interface or the OTHER and make it default on bootup and never see the other one? Seriously there is absolutely no value to the Metro interface for office use, so give the option to turn it off. (I turn it off with Classic Shell but its not an official Microsoft option).

  • Why Microsoft Looks Like A Sell [View article]
But the graph is -fantasy-. Windows phone is LOSING market share and Android still gaining. This is just a projection from someone based on old data when Windows phone was being dumped into the market (at a loss) to gain market share.

  • Has Google Finally Made Microsoft Obsolete? [View article]
I saw Windows 8 machines piled up at my store! They can't give them away at Micro Center. And by the way, Best Buy isn't selling much of anything, have you looked at their earnings lately

  • Microsoft Investors Need To Be Skeptical About Windows 9 [View article]
you bought a $1300 tablet for reading email? What innovation is there in reading email? What is the rush to read email. Why is it better than full blown desktop Outlook?

  • Is Google, With Chromebook, Pushing Major Competitors Over The Cliff Again? [View article]
Look at people on PC's all around you. Most of them are on the web 90% of the time. Chromebook satisfies that need without the bloat of Microsoft, so I believe they are not going away any time soon

  • Microsoft: Windows 8 Is Losing Market Share [View article]
Windows 8.1 fixed many issues of 8.0, but I would still hold off and just get Windows 7 until Microsoft releases Windows 9 next year.

  • Microsoft: Windows 8 Is Losing Market Share [View article]
People like you are the reason people are starting to dislike Windows 8 even more. You deny how bad it is. Windows 8 is a combination of -two- different interfaces. This is a fact. There is no scenario where two interfaces are less confusing for most people than one. People do not want a two interface OS. Its very 'annoying' and time wasting to be bounced back and forth between OS interfaces. Finding things is mind boggling. Launching calculator takes my full 30" screen. You can't resize the calculator because they designed it for a phone. Why do I have to go to the old control panel to update Windows, but I have to go to the Windows Store to update to 8.1? How does an average user know how to list the running apps in Windows 8? In Windows 7 everything was obvious. In Windows 8 they hid everything so that your computer can look like a phone

  • What You Need To Know About The New Surface Pro 3 [View article]
    1) no boss is going to pay for an employee to have a surface they can take home and play with.
    2) Why would you put all your eggs in one basket by using one device (surface). You drop it and you lose your work and home setup.
    3) Who wants to pay $1000 for a tablet?
    4) Why would Microsoft cut its own throat by creating a device that replaces all your PC's?
    5) Why is Microsoft making hardware? They should stick to their expertise of software otherwise they will be good at nothing

  • Surface Is Vital To Microsoft [View article]
Surface is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Tiny screen and fake keyboard and very expensive. To do any meaningful work, you need a real keyboard and larger screen. A thin laptop solves the issue.

  • Nokia's Rope-A-Dope Of Microsoft [View article]
It was a failure when they were trying to sell them for like $600 for RT, and $1200 for Pro. Once Microsoft got the message that nobody is buying at those prices, they lowered them to a more reasonable price, and improved the terrible battery life on the original PRO.

  • Nokia's Rope-A-Dope Of Microsoft [View article]
The Nokia device sales are not part of that 41%. You are thinking the Microsoft Surface and Surface RT products. Nokia's device sales actually dropped last quarter

  • Nokia's Rope-A-Dope Of Microsoft [View article]
Good article. I believe that Microsoft inherited a money losing business that's not even in their realm of expertise, so this may turn ugly

  • Microsoft-Nokia deal closing on Friday; terms slightly adjusted [View news story]
Google can -still- buy Nokia.. see Microsoft didn't get any of the patents, and they didn't buy Nokia. So don't jump to wrong conclusions without knowledge. Google doesn't want hardware. Microsoft bought the hardware from Nokia

  • Nokia: 50 Million Windows Phone Sales Possible For 2014 [View article]
with market saturation in smartphones, and the majority of people disliking the 'metro' windows 8 blocks, I'm guessing they may sell 40 million.
