  • A High-Yielding MLP? Look Closer [View article]
according to my Etrade this has lower risk than the AGNC I have that pays over $1 a share every quarter. The price per share is cheaper than AGNC but is going up fast and may soon surpass it. Why would they rate it as a lower risk? It also has a higher rating with Zacks and Reuters, but to see it for the first time it looks like a high risk business to be in. If you put AGNC and NTI together in equal amounts you get a 52 risk grade which is the lowest I have ever seen for risk grade other than bonds. Most stocks are over 100 in risk grade and some are 200s. PSEC is like 110. NTI is like 81 in risk grade. Are these people making a mistake giving it such a low risk grade?

  • A High-Yielding MLP? Look Closer [View article]
Is book value or NAV important to this business. I still do not understand where you could find it. If the world price of crude oil falls will it hurt the earnings of NTI? it seems they pay $70 for the oil but oil is in the 90s- does that mean they make $20 per barrel and that goes to the dividend? Will the South Dakota oil boom help NTI or will it simply reduce world oil prices?

  • Have Income Investors Returned To Agency Mortgage REITs? [View article]
AGNC may not go down when the dividend is reduced. Unlike the other REITs they compensate by raising book value. ARR already reduced its dividend. If you are afraid of a decrease in AGNC you could hold ARR which pays monthly until AGNC comes down then you could switch back to AGNC which is better run. theyuha-silver.blogspo...

  • As Insider Buying Spikes, Chimera Could Be Primed For A Takeover [View article]
I have been following these REITS for years but CIM is a risky investment. BMNM had insider buys though, BMNM is risky too but it does have insider trades. BMNM has a book value twice that of its share price. ARR or AGNC are the better buys in this sector now. I would avoid CIM unless you need a little extra risk in your portfolio. I actually think BMNM is a better buy now but it does have low volume.

  • American Capital Agency Maintained Its Dividend, Unlike Annaly [View article]
AGNC saved cash aside for a year or more so now they have enough to pay more steady dividends. They looked ahead at least one year in advance. They also raised the book value every quarter.Thumbs up to those who run AGNC. I expect $1 per quarter next year, I do not think $1.25 is reasonable unless they increase leverage.

  • An Undervalued Mortgage REIT With A Sustainable Dividend [View article]
It looks to me that $1will be the dividend next year. Book value should continue upward though so we shouldnt see and big drops when the dividend is announced at $1. This is not the case with other REITs like ARR which hemorage when lower dividends are announced. What makes you think $1.25 can be sustained? Or do you?

  • There's no dividend cut for American Capital Agency (AGNC), which holds its payout at $1.25/share. There's no special dividend either, meaning the company likely was able to buck up the regular payment by using capital gains from the sale of MBS. Shares +1.8% AH. (PR[View news story]
Recommend pairing AGNC with silver. I long AGNC and have PSLV as insurance in case interest rates rise because higher interest rates could signal a big drop in the dollar which I think may be 2015 or 2016.AGNC is very well run but 2016 could see big challenges from natural disasters along the coasts of America. I will likely get out by then and buy back in after a year or 2. Silver could double in 2 years plus it insures the stock from really bad suprise events but it doesnt pay dividends. We live in chaotic times but we will do well if we obay the commands of time and stick with well run companies like AGNC. theyuha-silver.blogspo...

  • A check of mortgage REITs as the Fed looks to continue banging away at their net interest spread: Among the pure-agency REITs, HTS, which slashed its dividend last night, -2.3%. Also, AGNC -1.2%, but NLY +0.8%. The non-agency players mostly fare better, DX -0.1%, IVR -0.3%, EFC -0.1%[View news story]
I have always said to hold silver with the REITs and my silver PSLV is making up for what I am down on AGNC.theyuha-silver.bl...

  • "There is some reason for concern here," says American Capital (AGNC) CEO Gary Kain, telling conference-goers mREIT investors have good cause for hitting the sell button. However, he says, a portfolio of Agency MBS can be constructed that both limits prepayment risk and provides an adequate yield. He urges close study of page 14 of his presentation - a slow prepaying, 30-year, 3.5% MBS purchased with 7X leverage can yield double-digits, and that's where he feels AGNC's portfolio is positioned. [View news story]
I sold the REITs and BDCs and bought silver (PSLV). ARR went down like 7% the next day. I do think they will spring back when the Fiscal cliff is solved. I am not able to take the stress of all of this. Silver can be volatile but this is getting scary with the REITs. Gary Kain is a very talented man but it is very hard to figure in the fear factor of those who buy and sell his stock. Some of these stocks could go up 10% in one day when they fix the fiscal cliff. For those who have enough money buying in soon could net a large gain plus the dividends but in the mean time there could be further losses. I do expect silver to go up in the next few months and silver seems to be of limited quantity. I am not sure when I will get back into REIT stocks. When interest rates begin to go up the Dollar could be in serious trouble( perhaps a few years from now). Already many nations no longer plan to use the dollar to buy and sell with. Lower oil and lower interest rates mask the real problems and give us some time before the dollar comes down significantly. The US simply cannot afford to pay the monthly interest if rates go up even a little. I recommend everyone who owns stocks to sit on some silver or gold. Silver will outperform gold.theyuha-silver.bl...

  • The Sprott Physical Silver Trust (PSLV) falls 2.6% premarket after announcing yet another secondary offering. If there is a shortage of silver, asks Kid Dynamite, why didn't the price of the metal tick up on the announcement a big player is about to buy several hundred million dollars worth? [View news story]
He always buys physical. I dont know how he navigates this and if silver is as tight as silver bugs claim it will get harder and harder to do this as time goes by.

  • Buy This Mortgage Stock Now, Before Its Buyback [View article]
Once interest rated begin to rise it is the final sign that the Dollar is falling apart. Present signs that the dollar is in trouble is the fact that nations are using gold or other currencies to do trade instead of the Dollar. Operation twist and lower oil is a temporary cover-up for the failing dollar. I do think AGNC will be good for a few more years but if the dollar implodes only silver and gold will protect you. I do not know how AGNC would perform but Gary Kain is pretty talented and he might see it coming. theyuha-silver.blogspo...

  • Avoid Companies Buying Their Own Stocks [View article]
AGNC plans to buy back 500 million shares. They just announced that their book value went up $3.08 to $32.49. They only made $.25 in regular income but it seems they sold something because they have a $3.98 comprehensive income. They closed at $32 on Friday and they announced Monday that they have a book value much higher now. They usually trade at 10% over book value. The FED ran the price of Securities up so its a better value to buy their own shares. My wagon is full of this stuff. NLY just bought their own shares as well. What is your comment on this.
