I'm a retired dairy farmer and I write on the Obama Blog, where I have 77 articles on various issues, most of which are on the economy. When I was farming, I joined the NFO(National Farmers Organization). Our organization wanted to sell our commodities on a contract. Other members and I picketed the Chicago Board of Trade over 40 years ago, concerning the futures market. A few years ago, the Chicago Board of Trade merged with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, making it the biggest DERIVATIVE market in the world. So now you have HEDGE FUND DEALERS acting like futures traders using leverage and our government virtually looking the other way because they think putting MEANINGFUL REGULATIONS on the HEDGE FUND DEALERS would hurt free enterprise. I think if they had the GLASS-STEAGALL ACT reinstated in banking, it would save free enterprise. I also belong to Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. It's up to the media to ride herd on our HIGHLY LOBBYIED LEGISLATORS.
