  • The Biggest Lie About The Real Estate Recovery [View article]
Tracy benefits from having favorable price and location characteristics for being situated on the edge of the Bay Area.
Tracy is seeing a housing recovery partly because it has substantially lower costs than the Bay Area yet is within commuting distance to places in the Bay Area where the technology industry is doing well, Tri Valley and Silicon Valley. Tracy is also favorably situated for the statewide logistics industry. It is much cheaper for many industries in the Bay Area to move their warehousing and distribution facilities out to Tracy. Tracy is known for being one of two continental commercial gateways to the Bay Area, the other being the Fairfield to Vacaville corridor.
The economy becomes weaker in the Central Valley beyond Tracy and further away from the Bay Area. Parts of the Bay Area and Coastal California have actually recovered from the economic collapse but most of California, especially Inland California, still has not recovered.

There's another new report out on the Chinese rare earth industry which can be purchased for a fancy price. But reading through the report's table of contents and list of charts is interesting.

Jakarta's location is fortuitous, too. Just imagine being situated between the markets of China, India and Australia.
Mongolia needs to take more steps to attract foreign investors only for the sake of being located a bit out of the way of most of the Asian commercial traffic.

Mongolia has plenty of competition for selling its mining ores, that is for sure. Myanmar, for instance, is just really beginning to offer to world markets its supply of base metals and industrial minerals. And Myanmar isn't landlocked, either.
