  • CNBC ratings slump gets worse [View news story]
I wish they would do technical analysis on that ratings chart .. Do fundamental analysis on their business with respect to competitors..

  • Pimco's Bill Gross makes mistakes? All the more reason to question whether you're paying too much for your bond fund (which probably isn't managed by someone with Gross' track record). Some investors are giving up a quarter of their return to fees and would do far better with bond ETFs like BND, AGG or LAG.  [View news story]
This is the "New Normal" i guess .. LOL ..

  • Why I'm Betting Cisco Will Rise Above $22/Share Soon [View article]
Nice article .. I was looking at Cisco .. No position yet .. I don't know how you can compare the likes of gold and silver to the Internet .. Instead why dont you look at data rates by cell phone providers .. The amount you pay for data will continue to go lower although more people will use more data centric devices ...

Cisco wouldn't have risen if not for the Barron's article ... So if not for them. It would be under 20 ... And yes people will be putting money in the new year bcos they can't go after ridiculous PE stocks ..

You have to compare the likes of Juniper, VMware to Cisco and not just PE ..

Having said that if Cisco moves , I will start a position ..in these frothy markets , price is truth ....

  • Even with 10% unemployment, there's no shortage of demand for foreign hires. This year's quota of 65,000 H-1B visas is all but exhausted, less than three months into the government's fiscal year.  [View news story]
Well H1b workers get paid the same wages as Americans. So get that fact straight. Well as far as saving 65000 jobs by taking away that visa. Think again. Where do you think the spending is going to come from ..Not America.. American consumer is shot down now. It will take a while to get spending again back on its foot... So be careful what you wish for. Every country can practice protectionism and think who will be hurt the most.

  • SEC chief Mary Schapiro says she can't police the big boys unless they open up the doors, particularly to the opaque derivatives market: Regulators need "information that allows us to construct an audit trail, so that we can find insider trading, manipulation and other concerns that can reverberate through the entire marketplace."  [View news story]
Thats a pity coming from the SEC ..

  • Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner today: "We have been forced to do just extraordinary things and, frankly, offensive things to help save the economy ... I am completely confident that none of those decisions ... had anything to do with the specific interest of any individual firm, much less Goldman Sachs (GS)."  [View news story]
Way to go Tim .. I thought the days of you being stupid in front of the media were over .. Here we go again ..

  • All three stock indexes closed at their 2009 highs, as did oil. For the week: Dow up 1.9%; S&P up 2.2%, Nasdaq up 1.8%. Five out of six up weeks, as Ben Bernanke says the worst is behind us.  [View news story]
Ben says Worst is behind US .. Wish he said " The worst is ahead of us " in 2007 -08 .. Oh wait he can only predict optimistic things ..

  • Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein on Matt Taibbi's much-discussed takedown of his firm: "Oddly enough, the Rolling Stone article tapped into something. I saw it as gonzo, over-the-top writing that some people might find fun to read. I was shocked that others saw it as being supporting evidence that Goldman Sachs (GS) had burned down the Reichstag, shot the Archduke Ferdinand and fired on Fort Sumter."  [View news story]
Thats the beauty of it .. When GS works with the Fed its very hard to get that evidence... Connection, Synergies are great even for druglords... They also would have started with nothing .. Innocent untill proven guilty .. But once that day comes .. Watch out .. There will be so many people saying " I told you so" ..

  • China Sell-Off Shouldn't Affect U.S. Equities Broadly [View article]
I dont know how you can ignore the China markets ..When the whole world was down the China markets rallied and pulled everyone outside .. Ofcourse it is a bubble (Such a big run is not sustainable). Every company that was reporting was quoting growth in China .. US consumers are not coming back any time soon ..

The take on Solar: I agree FSLR is cheap but can they compete with the Chinese solar companies.. And the possibility of another new company coming out with a low cost solution is out there. Plus the financing for the new solar projects are not looking that great with the credit tightening (First solar offering rebates after installation)...From the charts standpoint FSLR is scary..

Your picks are attractive , but i am going to wait on it ..

  • Bargain of the Week: First Solar [View article]
I have been looking into FSLR closely.. I agree with the key technical level approaching .. A couple of things do concern me .. All the Chinese solar firms and coming in with lower costs, government subsidy and there is always a danger of a new player coming in .. I would like to jump into FSLR but cant get in untill the tape settles.
