  • Alcoa: After The Double, Buy Or Sell? [View article]
Do like the Alcoa CEO Klaus did -- he sold ALL his awarded stock for this last year. Also, if aluminum prices go up enough, China et. al. will com online and drive it down. Alcoa is still not making money -- negative EPS.

  • SandRidge Energy: A Challenging Quarter Report Ahead? [View article]
That may be part of the reason he's a billionaire -- see's things middle class polo shirts don't see.

What I find more baffling is that this article has no target price. No actionable conclusion. What's the point of this article? Just mush.

  • Alcoa - As Analysts Raise Expectations Into Earnings, I Remain Cautious [View article]
Time to think about buying AA if it drops into 13s and strong buy if drops into 12s. Sold off my put position from when I predicted 13.80 price a couple weeks ago in above post.

I agree. No value in wishy-washy.

I'll give you an answer: $13.80 price target within a few months or sooner. They need to quit losing money. Also, the aftermarket does not have the entry barrier that the primary aluminum production market has -- alot of companies can get into that. Note that Klause sold ALL his awarded options a few months ago. ALL of them. What does that say?

  • Pain Might Continue For SandRidge In The Short Term [View article]
Ford was $1.70 a little over 5 years ago because "everybody knew" they were going broke.

Great article with the description of the swaps and collars hedging -- didn't know about that.

  • MBIA's Massive Head-Fake [View article]
This stock will be well on the way to recovery once the "shorts" are driven out.

This stock is set for substantial growth -- it is trading at about 0.50 tangible book and 2.8 P/E.

Most importantly, it is 92% institutional owned, AND has about a week's worth of short covering -- together, this can set the stage for a sharp short squeeze -- only about 8% stock float coupled with relatively large short position.

  • SandRidge Energy: Is 30% Correction Enough Of A Penalty For The Weak Quarter? [View article]
Good point on the quarter/quarter growth, and understanding that they'll climb a learning curve getting oil out of ground. Also, I'm new to oil, but I wonder whether this article has neglected the sale of Gulf of Mexico interests as accounting for much of the downward guidance, because that's a change of strategy, not a problem with drilling operations. With all the added rules and complexity of Gulf drilling, leaving the gulf and focusing on Mid Continent would seem to make sense.

  • Can SandRidge Energy Get Its Mojo Back? [View article]
Great article, thinking out of the box.

I'm relatively new to oil, and what I don't understand is why not bUy the Sandridge PER instead of the Sandridge common stock SD, since SD has negative EPS and no dividend, versus PER that has positive EPS and almost a 25% dividend, and has been paying this dividend for over 2 years?

    Why is that?

  • After Plummeting, King Digital Might Be A Bargain [View article]

Good article, but what about a price target? How about some numbers and conviction?

  • 4 Terrific Reasons Alcoa's Outstanding Run Will Continue [View article]
Good move, seeing that CEO Keinfeld just sold his entire "terrific" 800,000 share stock option allotment. Forward P/E of 20 is not cheap -- especially since EPS is still negative.

  • Ballard Power Systems Is A Strong Sell [View article]
That's a good point, but in addition to being a client, Plug Power is also building a distribution network. If Plug Power can get alternate sourcing, then maybe they can replace Ballard. I think what this boils down to is:
what's more important (and what's less expendable), Plug Power's distribution or Ballard's fuel cells?

  • Ballard Power Systems Is A Strong Sell [View article]
Toyota committed to fuel cells over batteries a few months ago with their announcement of a fuel cell car, and ending partnership with Musk and Tesla.

Toyota engineering confidence in fuel cells is a highly-credible endorsement, and bullish for the tech going forward.

From this, may be better shorting Tesla, going long Ballard, and buying Toyota on a significant future pullback.
