  • Basel III And Gold [View article]
And then there is silver, also used as money through history. It is dug up, melted down then used in processes that literally destroys it. There is less stored silver in the world than gold (correct me if I'm wrong on this point) and the easy to get at silver is gone, they now have to dig deep into the earth to find new silver.

  • Some Sirius XM Investors Just Don't Get It [View article]
Maybe it was just me realizing that I had an alternative to the same old
'free' radio channels on the AM/FM car dial and the internet phone opened up so many new stations. I fall into the 'paying for radio' is ridiculous' opinion.
I retract the 'certain age' with: alternative choice to Sirius monthly subscription charge.

I plug my smartphone into my radio. I don't have a need to pay a subscription fee for radio. Once a person hits a certain age they don't really care about what radio station they listen to.

  • As Competition Grows, Netflix Looks Worse Than Ever [View article]
For $8 a month my mom loves to watch the old Alfred Hitchcock series and I can ALWAYS find something interesting to watch. TV is all politics and not worth turning on anymore. On a side note I rode the scooter to a public park yesterday and looked at the trees turning colors.

  • An unmistakable trend is under way as investors cash in their bond ETF holdings and pour the money into stock funds. "A lot of fixed-income oriented people have decided to start chasing equities," says an ETF trader, as they fear being left behind by an equity market juggernaut (they already have been). Also seeing a rush are precious metals ETFs - the physical and the miners. [View news story]
