  • Occupy Wall Street And Not Understanding Capitalism [View article]
Some people just don't get that capitalism works every place it's been tried, every time. It's like the story about the chicken who requested the others help her plant the grain, garden it, harvest it and bake it into bread, the only thing a socialist wants is the government to step in and take the bread from the producer and give it to them for free.

I hope you didn't think my comment was aimed at you, Paulo, it was aimed at r.wayford, the ows supporter.

Do you understand the 'work' for 'pay' concept? If not, please explore that form of capitalism before ranting on the 'haves'. Thank you and looking forward to your next tangential rant.

There is no '1%' as the ows are not speaking for the '99%'. The top 1% pf the people with money are: inherited rich, sports figures, successful business people, politicians etc.. Could you point out one person that stole from you personally, r.wayford?

So, who are you anti-capitalist complainers going to vote for? Or are you just going to 'take down the system' by protesting in the streets? What are you going to replace the current system with? Be sure to do a mike check mike check mike check first!

The ows people have no clue why they are there except for a tweet from a canadian magazine. It was a place to hang out for free food, sex and drugs, Many homeless were directed there for the freebies also. Do you really think the majority of the protesters share your personal views on government spending or banks? No, they were anarchists waiting for a crowd to hide behind. If you really are so passionate about the 'perfect' government, why don't you move to Norway, they are the "happiest people in the world", except they probably have the same problems only no Wal-Marts.

Even spoon feeding logic and truth to liberals just makes their heads spin even faster, as proven by comments to the author above. The ows zombies are out to kill the golden goose because they aren't getting the eggs fast enough.

  • Emerging Markets May Have A Scary December To Remember [View article]
Confidence comes with a President and Congress that are leaders. We have no confidence now, given the current state of the country and a bunch of homeless squatting protesters. Like we used to say in little league: we want a pitcher, not a belly itcher.

  • Why Did Silver Drop So Much? [View article]
mining silver is more inelastic than you claim. In your scenario, silver miners would slow down production when prices are high and speed up when the price goes down? Doesn't economic theory dictate that when the price drops, the miners shut down their less producing mines, since the profit gets shaved?
    Or is it opposite day?

so you think gold has no yield? I suppose it doesn't but if you want yield buy disney or harley. If you want to insure some of your holdings buy gold and or silver. No yield, but it's something you can hold in your hand and not a piece of paper or a number on a computer screen.

I haven't used money to buy food in a long time. I charge everything (airline miles, I have 9 free tickets waiting for me right now) and pay it off via direct payment, my check is direct deposited so I don't use much 'money' at all. I pay off my cc balance every month.

  • In a strongly worded letter to Switzerland, U.S. Deputy AG James Cole demands - by Tuesday - detailed information on citizens using Swiss bank accounts to dodge taxes, or possibly see Credit Suisse (CS) and 9 other banks face criminal charges.  [View news story]
Ronald Reagan brought 30+ years of prosperity. How's that hope and change going for you personally? It sure has brought depression and destruction of the dollar and euro. For a government not 'of, by or for' the people there would have to be a majority of democrats running the nuthouses again.
