    My dad was an aviation buff from his youth, and started flying biplanes in the 30s. He had the good fortune to meet many of the aviation leaders of the 40s, 50s, and 60s.

    His words to me when I started investing 25 years ago? "Never buy into an airline. They are lousy businesses and never make money for very long."
