  • Linn Energy (LINE) CEO Mark Ellis disputes the assertion in the negative Barron's article that its units may be worth far less than the current quote: "We've had three different analyses done... None of the valuations [is] anywhere close to what was represented over the weekend in the Barron's article." LINE plans to raise its dividend ~6.2% this year, not cut it. LINE +1%, LNCO +1.3% premarket. [View news story]

  • Global Hunter sees little upside left in Linn Energy (LINE), downgrading shares to Neutral from Accumulate after rising 7.2% YTD. The firm sees risks in LINE's relatively high enterprise-wide decline rate and relying on acquisitions to grow; "management will need to execute very well" to continue its distribution growth sustainably. [View news story]
I have been lucky enough to own line for five years.Just about every year there has been a dividend increase. Just this year I sold some but only to buy Lnco .As far as I am concerned this stock is a winner, and
as one of the previous commenters stated with the Berry aquisition
things will be immediately accretive and up goes both line and Lnco dividends
    to $3.08 looks like a looser----NOT

  • Trading volume in LinnCo (LNCO -0.3%) ticks up to 1.1M shares vs. average daily volume of 869K, perhaps due to Jim Cramer's apparent endorsement via Twitter. Earlier this week, Linn Energy (LINE -1.5%), owned by LNCO, said it cleared an antitrust hurdle to buy Berry Petroleum (BRY) for $4.3B; the deal was announced last month and is expected to close by the end of June. [View news story]
LInn Energy seems to move in strange directions
some times, but when that dividend is raised to $3.08 and the Berry deal is done
It will rise again!! Onward and upward no doubt!!

  • Alpine Total Dynamic Fund's (AOD) recent distribution cut may have permanently alienated its fans, but at least one knock - its premium to NAV - no longer remains. At $3.99/share, the stock is trading at more than a 13% discount to NAV. Samuel Lieber - the President - is a buyer, picking up 50K shares at $4.01 on Friday. [View news story]
Seems as if Sam is a little desparate.
He has run this stock into the ground and the dividend with it.I wathed the price drop from the 20s to 3.75 and the dividend was decimated along the way. good luck to those who wish to hang on. There are much more attractive fish to fry!!

  • Don't panic about MLPs, Roger Conrad writes: While a deeper slump in North American energy drilling would force more retrenchment of growth plans and cut into growth of cash flow and distributions, there are lots of high-quality MLPs selling at bargain prices. Many MLPs, such as Linn Energy (LINE), have locked in lofty selling prices for their projected oil and natural gas output for several years. [View news story]
