  • Jim Sinclair: Gold, Swine Flu, Communal Emails [View article]
    Well said "goldrealmny."

I agree whole heartedly with your comments on the article and especially about the author. My efforts to politely hold back resulted in falling short of calling a spade a spade. Some things simply must be spelled out to accurately describe what is an ill-informed sour-grapes "wannabe."

Thanks for saying what many of us were obviously thinking goldrealmny.

First of all, let me express my appreciation to those of you who have attempted to set Freya and the others who have degraded Jim Sinclair and his company straight on a few things.

I too have followed Mr. Sinclair's website, his admonitions, analysis, and Tanzania Royalty since its inception. I'm also a shareholder of TRE.

In my opinion his honesty and management ethics are above reproach and set a standard for the mining industry. His selflessness in attempting to educate on his website at his own expense, has assisted me in making extremely productive investment decisions over the years of this current precious metal's bull market.

Not only is he a self-made man and multi millionaire, having refused an inheritance from his father and thus created his own fortunes, but once made a statement that he has donated more money to charities than he has kept for himself.

I ask anyone who doesn't know the meaning of respect and is critical of him, what are your accomplishments and who are you to be judgemental of this man or his company?

    Gtarras,
It's painfully obvious the ones who broke the system can't fix it, but that doesn't mean we all have to go down with the ship. Just because someone takes positions in the marketplace that hedge against callamity, doesn't mean that person doesn't have empathy for those who suffer because of these circumstances.

I agree that fighting the FED is a useless endeavor. The FED has been purposefully destroying the Dollar for nearly 100 years. Therefore, I'm not betting against the FED by buying gold and shorting bonds. That's siding with the FED's position, not against it. No desperation here....just going with the flow.....bud.

"Not much of a control" dieuwer, is my sentiment exactly. Everything is "out of control." I've made a lot of money betting "against the system" and not by trading in and out of TBT, MTV, or my precious metals mining companies every other day. While circumstances can alter investment strategies, my plan is to stay with TMV for a couple of years and give it time to play out. Admittedly, timing is as essential as is conviction on the fundamental reasons for taking a position in the first place.

If you think TBT is slow & boring, check out TMV. It's a new bear fund on 30 year Treasuries TIMES THREE. I bought it a week ago Monday and am currently up $7 per share after it tacked on nearly $4 today. Someone out there doesn't believe the FED can control long-term rates.

  • Silver Set to Sparkle [View article]
Farfetched is right. Pan American Silver anticipates mining 21.5 million ounces of silver in 2009, not gold. The author obviously doesn't know very much about the precious metal mining industry or he'd realize the obsurdity of his statement.
