  • Eco Data - China's Inflation Data For April 2015 [View article]
How many people actually understand that hugh ecconomies cannot grow at high rate. But even small increase is actually a very big number. Last week the IMS project china will grow GDP the most in 2015 and USA the second. The 2 together have close to half of all the increases for the world. India is only contributing 5% and that is very small compared to china and the US even when India may have an exceptionally high growth rate.
I realitically think both china and the US are doing fine today and any higher growth rate is just not posible for the future. That has to do with the world and aging and being too big. what happen in Japan in the last 20 years will come to the US and china in the future.
In the mean time stock market in china will continue to move higher until it reach its fair market value. The current fair value for all stock market is high due to low interest rates all over the world. someday in the future it will crash but that is another story.

I use a bucket method to have a bucket to hold cash. The higher the market the more cash I hold so all expense can be withdraw from the cash bucket and no need to sell security when the market is low.
Your method is interesting but what rule did you use to enter the market in Jan 2009 which is very close to the low of the bear market.
Also to test your method the best is to start it in around 1930. Most methods that fails the 4% withdraw rule is if there is a few years of bear market right at the beginning of the study.

  • Investor Who Is 55+ - Start With The End In Mind [View article]
There is almost 0 chance for these 4 companies to grow divident at 10% a year for the next n years.
I am very certain MCD and IBM will not be able to do that. They are 2 of the weakest companies for future growth.

  • IMF 2015 Forecast - China Largest Contributor To Global GDP Growth... Even At A 7% Rate [View article]
An excellent article that few read.
The most important factor is the current real productive GDP (discount for consumption) and the second most important factor is the absolute growth of GDP and not the %.
That is why even Japan is not growing but the current size of its GDP is large. If you have a business you have a better chance in Japan than say in India where the growth rate is high but the absolute size is small.

  • IMF: China No Longer A Currency Manipulator, Here's Why [View article]
Most people do not understand the eu single currency was set up to just help mainly germany. all the other weaker countries help drive the euro down and now Germany is getting all the benefit. countries like Greece and Spain are doom because they cannot depreciate their currency to reflex their weak ecconomy. they are now financial slaves for germany. Greece must default and get out of the euro or else stay as slaves for germany

  • Chevron Will Raise Its Dividend This Year [View article]
In general I agree with the author. I would like to add a little bit more info from somewhat inside chevron.
The cut back in general is very deep and further cut has been planned already. Another cut in head count will take place just like last year. Reorg start around August and finalize by nov. do not think this is that good because it will affect work getting done. More job will be moved oversea and that will further hurt efficiency.
The down under operation is still very inefficient and expense cut is difficult due to politic.
Cvx is a long term investment and I am going to increase my holding over the next 12month. Do not buy for short term trade

  • Straight Talk On The 4% Rule [View article]
There is no one method that is good for all. My in law just live with social security income and their home has no mortgage. They did that fine. The last few month of my father in law was in care pay by medical. All their extra like eat out at restaurant or traveling when they were younger were paid by their children. I on the other hand have enough asset to use any method I chooses. I could easily put some money in dividend growth stock and live off the dividend. I choose to use a bucket system with cash and stock. I would put money in bond if interest rate is high. What you need is to choose something that is realistic and comfortable to you. For me if I have very little money I would just cut my expense down to fit my income. I would also take more risk by putting more money into the stock market

why do people think the developed countries can continue to grow like in the past? growth in other part of the world will take a lot of the growth away from the developed countries. also aging will slow down growth. no one can prevent that

  • Will China Join The Currency Wars? [View article]
if you really think the currency is too low you can buy as much yuen as you want in Hong Kong which has a constant peg to the us dollar. you can make billion or even trillion of dollars. there is no restriction for any country or company or individual to do that. or even better buy all the assets in china using the us dollar which is over valued and make a killing. the fact is today every control can easily move it's currency by interest rate and also buying or selling.
