Most of the time, I'm being sarcastic. With the time left, I'm being cynical. Sometimes (rarely) I kid you not.

I like gold. I play the markets. I indiscriminately accept all governments and all administrations. It's a mistake to think I'm a political critic or a bandwagon follower. Sometimes, it's a mistake to think anything about humans. That's why governments are predictable. They make the mistake of thinking about humans. That, of course, is their job description. That is why the government exists.

Why do I indiscriminately accept all governments and administrations? Because they are predictable. All "governments" whether "socialist", "capitalistic" or "other" are comprised of humans thinking about humans. Humans are unpredictable. But humans thinking about other humans and devising ways to deal with them are predictable. I'm interested in everything government does. My reasoning is simple. It is easier to predict the goals of governments than the goals of corny "conspirators", fantasy-based megalomaniacal "banksters" or other sentient-seeming crustaceans.

Bureaucracies are limited capacity systems. They are unimaginative and eminently rote. That makes government a potentially easy read.

I also like history. It is predictable. It repeateth itself ad infinitum, ad nauseam.

Please note (as Wikipedia correctly disseminates): "Ad nauseam" arguments are logical fallacies (think "evolution" or "god") that rely on the repetition of a single argument to the exclusion of all else. This tactic employs intentional obfuscation, in which other logic and rationality is intentionally ignored in favor of preconceived subjective modes of reasoning and rationality.

The consideration of "subjective modes of reasoning and rationality" presupposes "objective modes of reasoning and rationality", which is a highly subjective presupposition, no?

Historians, you see, are human. They are predictable because...you guessed it...they are humans recording data about other humans. If there are any tomes written by snails on the Dark Ages, I haven't come across them.

I like predictable because I like risk. That's not a conundrum. It may be a paradoxical statement but if you like post hoc analysis, you'll know that what looks like a risky move is merely an astute summation of a predictable outcome that no one else noticed.

Imagine the possibility that the economy is never volatile or "uncertain".

Now, that's entertaining!
