  • The U.S. Treasury plans to sell 200M General Motors (GM) shares, valued at about $5.5B, back to the auto maker. The announcement of the share sale was made back in December, and once completed will leave the Treasury with 300M shares remaining. JPMorgan (JPM) and Citigroup (C) have been tapped to make the sale. [View news story]

  • Big Tests For Stocks [View article]
I agree... unless the debt ceiling causes our economy to collapse there will still be lines of people to buy Iphone 6 and apple still is sitting on 100 billion in cash, that does not change - debt ceiling or not. But because the market IS irrational it is something to keep an eye out for. I will be putting my stops in place as well and buying back in at the bottom if things do take a dive.

  • Intel: Busting The Mobile Margin Myth [View article]
If anything, INTEL would build a superior product and roughly equal cost. they have no middle man who at the end of the day ALSO has to make a profit as well. your comments make no sense why INTEL's margins would be less than the others.

  • Select Sector Dogs Sport 15% To 53% Gains [View article]
    First off GREAT article!

I would love to see you pull some "best of breed" from each category. When I buy a dividend stock I always wonder, does the company pay this nice healthy dividend because they have to in order to attract share holders - examples HPQ, PBI, JNJ etc due to stagnated growth but healthy cash flow? Or because they can? after making the appropriate R&D, Capital, and Debt reduction expenditures they still have a pile of cash to either distribute or pay taxes on.

I own positions in ARR, AGNC, INTC, HPQ, PBI, JPM, WFC, GE, F, XOM, VZW

And looking to acquire some Medical, mREIT, and Energy / nat resources stocks to fill the gaps. Your analysis was very helpful!

  • Intel: Busting The Mobile Margin Myth [View article]
I have a smart phone and a tablet, both are great for short simple or mindless tasks (watching videos, facebook, reading emails)... I Really like the new HP and Lenovo(yoga etc...) w/ surface/win8 tablet/laptop, It would eliminate my samsung 10.1 (which I regret buying to begin with).

I would not be surprised at all if these new tablet/laptop combos take off for folks like me who travel a lot. Looks like the low end are mostly being powered by nvidia tegra, but all the high end are intel chips.

  • Intel: A Big Contrarian Bet In The High Technology Sector [View article]
I was under the impression that intel is capable of 22nm and almost 14nm later this year yields are still fairly low... but many lines are still running 28nm (except for Atom and a few others) mostly because there is still such a gap in the marketplace(AMD is still suffering through 28nm pains). Like I said I could be wrong, I was out in AZ 4 months ago and things tend move pretty fast but I work in the industry. Either way the company is still very impressive, while others downsize and sell off their Fabs to go fabless, Intel spends the money and keeps up with the latest and greatest equipment. As someone who buys tools from their assembly plants in costa rica and israel, they also take really good care of their gear which goes a long way in operating at max capacity.

  • Why Intel Is So Appealing [View article]
I love owning stocks like INTC, buy them cheap (in my case 19.3X) and stick them in a DRIP plan and watch the shares grow, Intel will be a 35-40$ stock. it may take 2-3 yrs but when someone is paying you 4x what your money earns in a CD why not hold it?

I like AMD and their products but being associated with Mubadala scares the crap out of me. Especially when they hold the key to their supply chain... This cancellation fee seems extreme...

I might be old school but I don't care if a company grows revenue 1000% a year if profit margins slide, at the end of the day you don't take home or pay dividends with revenue you do that with PROFIT!.. you are buying a stock for 270$ that is currently generating .07$ / share in earnings, are you kidding me? 3400/1 P/E!!!

I am not an economist, but these numbers a totally NUTS! Apple makes 35-40% margins, amazon makes PENNIES, there seriously is NO compassion.

I am seriously considering a short position in amazon... and i really don't use options but to protect my investments on occasion.

  • Advanced Micro Devices 10% Yield [View article]
if they lose too much I fear their cash on hand will start to become a big concern for investors... for a cash heavy industry like semicon i like to see companies with healthy balance sheets (intc)

  • Advanced Micro Devices 10% Yield [View article]
As someone who recently toe dipped (5000 shares) at very close to a 52wk low, this stock scares the shit out of me... To the point it is the only stock I own where I feel the need to watch every day. I think they could post a surprise profit or at least closer to break even #s. I feel if this happens (i.e. company is back in the black, even if it is a 1$ in profit) the stock will catapult. if the post another big loss, it will surely crash into my 10% trailing stop and continue downward.

I have heard of big wins in new Nintendo consoles? can anyone fill in the blanks? where will AMD's new growth be coming from.

  • The Better Burger Threat To McDonald's [View article]
I too wonder about the Obesity issues...

Why have none of the Fast food places come out with a "seasons 52" style "all under 400 calorie menu" to me as someone who travels all the time it would be great if these places could offer heathy and tasty choices... I end up at panera etc instead of MCD or Burger King
