  • Time To Dump Intel From The Ultimate Sustainable Dividend Portfolio? [View article]
The issue with being an Intel shareholder is you have to have significant faith that Intel will post some big wins at the end of the year. This next line up of chips is what we have been waiting on for 2 years. I own a small business and for the first time in years I have employees requesting new laptops, most wanting Ultrabook upgrades such as the new Macbook air (10+ hrs of battery life) or new ASUS/Lenovo products - and the i7 is just the beginning for these products. The ATOM chips are the ONLY processor available in any of these devices.. I think we will see a resurgence of Ultrabook sales once the next round of Process/GPU technology is introduced as I know I am waiting to buy around xmas time. Intel is making their way into all the Microsoft surface tablets and based on my recent visit to best buy those have to be getting more popular (i had to wait 20 min just to play with the demo model i was interested in)... I think INTC's EPS and profit will start to creep up Q4 and Q1 '14. Their opportunities to capitalize on the NAND boom is there - now we just have to wait and see if they will squander that opportunity as well.

  • Why Caterpillar Shares Could Drop To $50 And Still Be Fairly Valued [View article]
If CAT ends up at 50$ that would make the DIV yield over 4% I would be a buyer of that stock, fact is I would be shocked if it breaks out of its 52 week low but it is on my watch list.

  • The Truth About The Impact Of Dividend Reinvesting [View article]
Varan, when coming up with a strategy, i looked at all areas - I decided on dividend growth. i took my top 25 picks looked at the intial investment compounded the dividends over 20 years and looked at what i came up with, that sold me on the idea. If there is one thing about the market that is true is that it appreciates over long periods of time and history repeats itself. this cannot be refuted. There are a few absolutes in life, people are going to need fuel (for any foreseeable future), Food, Band Aids, Medicine, Electricity, and no matter what these things will get purchased and these companies will earn money. Our country will continue to be the world's police and thus military contractors will make plenty of money to award hefty dividends.

I took my research made the investments in my top 25 which all but one have appreciated with great success over the past 4 years.

If more people took this approach then people would be retiring with sufficient income to last. not struggling.

  • When Should You Sell A Dividend Stock? [View article]
When Ford was up 40% people said sell, up 60% sell, up 80% sell... (based on my buy at 9$) if you are not comfortable in your investments put a loose trailing stop in but i prefer to let the runners run.

  • American Capital Agency Among The Worst mREITs [View article]
I will be buying some more agnc at a steep discount. as fast as these mREITs fall they can recover at the same rate. Buying below BV is always a huge plus.

Long AGNC, largest position is in NLY.

  • Is Intel A Long-Term Value Trap? [View article]
very true. Intel is the only one who has proven 14nm thus far. they will continue to lead and shore up their chip offering... intel should be a 30$ stock even with their current numbers.

  • Top Stock With Unusual Call Activities On Wednesday: Ford [View article]
Exactly.. If you look at their numbers and their current/future car line up you can see this one is poised for more growth in 2013. GM is touting its 315HP 5.3L V8, ford has a V6 that gets 8 MPG better and has more HP and Torque than that gas guzzler. Ford is on the cutting edge and will continue to gain market share.

  • American Capital Agency's Dividend Range Scenarios For Q3 2013 [View article]
What I would love to see an article on is what would cause AGNC or NLY to become insolvent? what type of perfect storm would have to take place? It would be helpful to know so we can watch for the indications. Obviously interest rate rights, fannie and freddie going belly up etc..

  • American Capital Agency's Dividend Range Scenarios For Q3 2013 [View article]
If there was no risk everyone would be earning 18% dividends. this is a volatile sector, the key is to load up when its cheap which is what I have been doing. If you look at the historical graph of NLY you can see this sector is a wild roller coaster ride. The key is hanging on durring the wild ride, it takes a strong stomach... Unless there some monumental changes to fannie/freddie (we see how well congress is working on our balanced budget) there will still be a home for these mREITs. Where else do you get these kinds of returns? I own a few MLP's and even they don't return this kind of dough... Kain's team is one of the best and I don't foresee a "belly up" risk - the share price could erode more but the company itself seems secure for the time being.

  • Report: Intel planning flurry of mobile CPU launches in 2014/2015 [View news story]
until the money is put in the books from these grand and superior technologies Intel will continue to trade in the low 20s. Where i will continue to buy it. I am OK grabbing a seat on the gravy train - even if I am early. 2014 will be their year.

  • Intel: Time To Give It Up [View article]
Michael, nice comment! I think Intel will fair well Q4 and Q1 FY2014 I will continue to hold and collect the dividend. None of the new products we are waiting for have even hit the market! missed revenue, met profit (I prefer profit to revenue any day!) I think things will only get better for INTC.
