  • Intel's Earnings Report: Not Great, But Not Terrible [View article]
10$? I swear people trade this stock like they are losing money like Sony year after year!!! The stock market is always pushing the"potential" earnings of a company. Intel is sitting on a mountain of potential. Plus the company had over 10 BLN in net income. what did amazon have? maybe 1 billion if they are lucky. yet amazon deserves to be traded a 2700:1 PE? give me a freaking break.

  • Intel's Soft Guidance - Now What? [View article]
at the end of the day Intel will be in those markets. Depends on what you are after. Stable PE, Stable earnings, Very low debt, High margins, Very low price to book value...

My question is why would someone want to own a company in a market that changes so fast it is very easy to be unseated. ARM might not go away but I doubt when intel makes the push into that market they will be able to hold them off. Plus with a P/E of 78, there is not a lot of room - one mistake that stock tumbles... Intel makes a few small missteps they are still here, still making tons of money...

  • Finally Sold On Ford [View article]
There were plenty of jobs in the factory that make 50-60K a year, engineering, robotic techs, maintenance staff. but a lady putting screws in a plastic housing should not make 30$ an hour, when a Mexican who will work 2 x as hard across the border will do it for 1.5$ an hour. Would you rather have 15$ / hour or unemployment... looks like the latter. Plus - get rid of those union dues and that's a few bucks an hour right there.

  • Intel: A Big Contrarian Bet In The High Technology Sector [View article]
I agree with the analysis. I always wonder why Intel has been hit so hard by supposedly "missing the boat on phones" they practically monopolize a market. Their earnings are great, their financials are rock solid. They control all their own process and own their own fabs. While most subcontract fab runs, Intel's continuous investment means they are on the leading edge (28nm process). Personally I feel Intel should not be trading any lower than 30$ a share and much higher after they gain more ground in mobile and tablets. The new Windows 8 offering could be huge for shareholders and for all of us who are not Apple fan-boys - we just upgraded to Win8 at work and I am seriously considering doing so at home. It will be hard to give up my Galaxy SIII...

  • 3 Reasons Why HP Is Positioned For A Comeback [View article]
agreed, HP should focus on innovating high end computers, cloud, and commercial products and stay out of the "asus, lenovo, and samsung" low end market. why operate in an area that serves only bottom feeders?

  • Why Exxon Mobil Is An 'Inevitable' Buy Now [View article]
watch out the spelling police are out!!! fortunately I read the articles for the information, not to criticize someone for a very simple spelling error. Nice article, I own Exxon but need to look into the DRIP plan.

  • Annaly Capital: When The CEO Buys $1 Millon In Shares, I Listen [View article]
What is GREAT FOR THE GOOSE is DECENT for the GANDER when it comes to NLY.

stock down 6 bucks over past 2 years

    .60$ dividend now .30$

Give this woman a pat on the back. We as investors are like street corner children begging for 2 shillings. The company is designed to make the inside rich, and the outside complacent enough to not question why we are not getting a bigger piece of the pie.

  • Build A 'Whatever Happens' Portfolio... Now [View article]
AMEN BROTHER.... I have learned the only thing i am good at when it comes to investing is picking good companies at good times.

trying to time when a company will melt down has literally never worked... amzn nflx lnkd have all taken some of my lunch money - and i am not afraid to admit - i thought one day Mr market would wake up and notice the same thing i was seeing "darn these companies are severely overvalued, all the goodwill in the world couldn't justify these prices" but that was not the case!

  • A Few Thoughts About The Intel Earnings Report [View article]
    You look correct Russ...

It was pretty much you and Asharaf that convinced me when i was having a conflict between holding and selling to keep the INTC stock I had held so long.

Now sitting with 77% upside in the stock - I thank you both for your insightful articles and knowledge!!

  • Intel promises Broadwell PCs will be available by holidays [View news story]
Because every merger and acquisition works out so swimmingly!

They are so non progressive that they literally ARE the leading edge of the semiconductor industry. As someone who works in the industry - intel is anything but boring and not progressive. it just seems that way because they totally own an industry it can appear as they are just going through the motions.

Have you given any thought to why they promote from within? Because it is much better for a company of Intel's size and complexity to put someone who actually knows and understands the process... Or maybe they should bring in some flashy CEO from outside to run it - that always works so well - wonder what Carly Fiorena or Ron Johnson are doing right now?

  • Wal-Mart And Target Both Win Right Now [View article]
I am watching and waiting for the right time to jump into target.

I follow a unique investment strategy. I don't buy companies I don't or would not consider giving my business to. Walmart falls into this. Their store is cluttered, full of the trash of the earth spending their gov't slush fund. On the other hand target is a much cleaner more inviting store. would love to pick up some more in the low 50s.

  • Is AT&T A Good Investment Over Verizon? [View article]
Simple answer - Verizon > ATT...

Better services, better margins, established base who LOVE THEM (myself included), most of the people i know are stuck with ATT because they went to the IPhone a while back... But we will see how it plays out...

My interest lies with FIOS roll out, and the purchase of Intel's web TV division.

  • The Steel Industry's Imminent Correction [View article]
I bought MT at 12.20 when it was getting kicked down the street. I gave the tip to a few people at work who thought i was crazy. Well after the closing bell I have enjoyed the 45% ride upwards. MT is aggressively attacking their debt load and will return to profitability this next year. I see the stock having a ceiling of around 18-19 until they start posting profits.
