  • Apple Should Take The $199 Chinese Smartphone Seriously [View article]
People will always buy Apple because of its premium appeal, an as an exclusive status symbol. Only those who can't afford it will buy the cheaper handsets.

Case in point, I was in Hong Kong from late last year to early this year, when iphone 4S came out. You could NOT buy a brand new iphone 4S without someone from mainland China offering to pay you double! To the affluent Chinese, a brand new iphone is the equivalent of a Hermes belt (H belt), LV bag, or a Zegna suit, a status symbol to show your wealth. So no, I do not see Apple losing out the Chinese market, and in fact I see the opposite.

  • Facebook: Zuckerberg Not Selling For A Year - A Red Herring [View article]
Tom is just explaining why you shouldn't be overly enthusiastic about FB after the news came out, Brian, no need to be condescending. If you want opinions of a REAL professional with credential, maybe you should head over here:

After that, I suggest that you hand over all your money to an investment bankster, and pray.

After reading a lot more into options, it seems like this technique is very similar to the one that's called "strangle", is that the case K2O2? Your strategy is now a lot more easy to follow when I read it the 3rd time.

  • Our Long-Term, Investing For Increased Yield Strategy: Part 2 [View article]
    Hi K2O2,

Thanks for posting your strategy. I've just started investing last month, and there is so much to learn.

One thing I want to know is why do you want the stock price to be at or below the middle of its 52 weeks? Is it because there is less chance of your stock being called away by the call buyer, and more chance of buying your stock at a much lower price when the put option is exercised by the put buyer? Thank.
