  • Tesla Model S At $80K: What A Deal [View article]
Increased driving range is more important than more acceleration. The Model S already has more than enough acceleration. Why do you emphasize "increase acceleration" in point #1 of your summary? "A larger battery pack would increase the driving range but not the efficiency" is what you should have said.

  • Why Projections For Tesla To Sell 500,000 Cars In 2020 Are Absurd [View article]
So if they are off by 2 or 3 years, does that really matter? 2020 is a round number. If they achieve the goal by 2023, is it an "absurdity"? Your whole premise is uninspired. It seems like your article represents the musings of another concerned short. By the way, where is your disclosure?

  • Is Tesla An Energy Company? [View article]
Frank, come on, with shoot-from-the-hip comments like this one, your credibility will come into question by many people. Tesla has "no knowledge of how to build Li-ion batteries"?.....As a matter of fact, they have assembled the best battery in the electric car industry, such that they are comfortable with providing an 8-year, unlimited mileage warranty on it. And with Panasonic as their partner in the Gigafactory, they can readily build the cells of the future for these batteries. Using current technology, they can already achieve about 8% per year enhancement in the current Li-ion battery storage capacity for several years to come. Longer term, they can do whatever it takes....sodium ion, new lithium ion, lithium air.......whatever it takes, they can do it.

  • Is Tesla An Energy Company? [View article]
You are confusing units of energy and power. This seems to be a popular misconception among many people lately. Your "1 billion watts" is an expression of power. Energy, on the other hand is power delivered over a defined time period (i.e. 1 billion watt-hours is 1 Gwh).

  • Infinera's 100G Inflection Point Moment Arrives [View article]
Well-written and comprehensive article! Among the best I have seen on SA....for any company. It's too bad you couldn't have elaborated more on the significance of the software controlled network. This is a huge advantage that INFN has. Also, I doubt that there is any serious resistance at $13, even in June.

  • Tesla's Model S: Engineering Dream, Fiscal Nightmare [View article]
Your opinion and analysis place absolutely no value on the environment and zero emission technology. In truth, the money being spent on tax credits for zero emission vehicles today are nothing compared to the enormous costs of our failure to address the underlying cause of climate change. You are just another denier of this very serious problem. If nothing is one, we are currently on track to losing New York City, parts of New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, and most of Florida, Mississippi, and Louisiana in about 50 years.
