  • T-Mobile Selects Ericsson For Billing Solution And New Customer Experience

    Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) has won a contract with T-Mobile (NYSE:TMUS) to improve its business and IT billing processes to drive further growth and market differentiation. The update will include all branded T-Mobile and MetroPCS customers with a long-term managed services agreement for Service Agility based on Ericsson's pre-integrated OSS/BSS software suite.

    With this breakthrough solution, T-Mobile will be able to quickly and flexibly introduce new services, accelerating the ability to advance customer satisfaction. In addition, T-Mobile customers will gain real-time billing visibility and full control over account service changes. This will result in a streamlined customer experience as well as reduced overall operational costs for T-Mobile.

    "Ericsson and T-Mobile have a long-standing relationship and this expansion gives us the agility we need to continue growing our valued customer base," said Neville Ray, Chief Technology Officer for T-Mobile. "The work now underway with Ericsson will enhance our infrastructure and deliver an even better experience to our customers."

    As part of this contract, Ericsson will leverage its Service Agility solution, which includes charging, billing, order management, product catalog and Customer Relationship Management (NYSE:CRM). Ericsson will integrate and manage operations of the solution.

  • Con Edison Selects Ericsson To Manage Internal Network In New York City
    • First Ericsson managed services deal with public utility in the United States - milestone in strategic growth area
    • Network used for internal dispatch of Con Edison technicians serving more than 3.3 million electric and 1.1 million gas customers in New York City and Westchester County
    • 6 year agreement will help Con Edison enhance its internal network and improve operational efficiencies

    Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) has been selected by Consolidated Edison Company of New York (Con Edison) to provide managed services for its private Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN). Con Edison is a regulated utility providing electric, gas, and steam service in New York City and Westchester County, New York. The iDEN network is used for internal dispatch of Con Edison technicians serving more than 3.3 million electric and 1.1 million gas customers. This is Ericsson's first managed services deal with a public utility in the United States.

    Ericsson will service 24 cell sites and one core network for Con Edison. Services include performance reporting, network monitoring, front and back office handling, field operations and third-party product management. Ericsson has been performing monitoring and maintenance for Con Edison since September 2009.

    Wendell Little, IT Communications Operations Department Manager, Con Edison says: "Ericsson is the leader in network connectivity and it only made sense to utilize their services to help us enhance our internal network. We look forward to working with Ericsson as we continue to serve customers in New York City and Westchester County."

    Con Edison is a subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc. - one of the US' largest investor-owned energy companies.

    Jean-Claude Geha, Head of Managed Services, Ericsson says: "There is enormous potential in public utility for connectivity to enhance services and customer relations. Con Edison is the first managed service public utility customer for Ericsson in the United States and marks a strategic win for Ericsson."

    Ericsson has signed more than 300 managed services contracts in more than 100 countries and manages networks on behalf of operators that serve more than 1 billion subscribers worldwide.

  • Ericsson And Verizon In Managed Services Deal
    Ericsson will handle field dispatch services for Verizon's international wireline networks in Latin America, Puerto Rico and Canada under the terms of a seven-year managed services agreement.

    The agreement includes all maintenance and new circuit installations at their point-of-presence (POP) sites and customer locations in 11 countries.

    "This is a very strategic deal for Ericsson, as it is the first managed services agreement with Verizon," said John Neville, Head of Customer Unit Verizon. "Through this new scope of work, we are expanding our customer relationship from equipment and software solutions to a deeper focus on improving service to Verizon's critical international enterprise customers."

    By engaging Ericsson for managed services, Verizon will be able to leverage Ericsson's large international presence and expertise in field services, thus improving the service its customers receive at a reduced cost.

    "This agreement is an excellent opportunity for Ericsson to demonstrate the benefits of our managed services capabilities and, hopefully, continue to grow our business into the future with this very important customer," said Neville.
