    When a company reports a loss, say 10 cents, it is difficult to assess what is meant by "missed by 003" -- does that mean the estimated loss was 7 cents or 13 cents?

    The theme of this post escapes me. One time, I attended a briefing by Sen. Pat Murray (Washington), on Boeing's battle with Airbus re bookings around the world, so I had an inkling of actions being done by these two outfits. Why drag China into the picture? Soon, of course, China will be building airplanes themselves -- perhaps that is relevant.

    This is an excellent summary. I invariably missed out the last segment (final trade) as these panelists tend to mumble their respective picks. It would be interesting to track how their picks in the following day or two.

    Results of MON and BBBY are not particulary different (relative to street consensus, except, perhaps MON's earning per share), but the street's reaction is like day and night -- the former up and the latter down, both dramatically. Why so?
