  • Why I Sold My Verizon Stock (And Why I'm Not Looking Back) [View article]
It is really poor timing to sell VZ stock right now, depending on when you bought it. If you were to wait until spring ,one would see at least a 10% reboud in it's price probably near 47 carried mostly by this bull market. I would sell it then.

The award for the biggest idiots of the year goes to the European Commission! With their economy barely limping along, they should welcome a proven, solid company like UPS with open arms. I quess there are boneheads in control of their economy just like there are boneheads in control here in the USSA (United Socialist States of America) DUMB!!!

  • UPS (UPS +0.8%) faces a formal complaint from the European Union over its bid to acquire TNT Express, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. The prize-winning political union doesn't think three heavyweights in the industry will be enough to provide fair competition on the continent, while UPS argues a broader definition of competitors should be applied. [View news story]
I worked for UPS almost 30 years and there are few companies as well run as they are. I can see why the Europeans are in a financial mess when they try to stop a company as excellent as UPS from operating in Europe. Top wages, benefits, and retirement along with phenomenal success should allow them to be welcomed with open arms. Their refusal by Europe stinks of something political.

I am long UPS because the dividend buys more share when the stock price is lower. Buy and hold this stock and you will always do as well as the market.
