  • Notes from Brocade Communications' Shareholder Meeting [View article]
just b/c someone doesn't have multi ethnic directors doesn't mean that they are not successful global companies. Your tone in this post seems extremely bitter. Go eat some more cookies.

  • IBM Won't Do Much to Help Brocade Take Market Share from Cisco [View article]
I disagree. With Cisco doing the whole blade server thing, it is pissing off HP and IBM. Combined, they do over 1 billion per year in traditional LAN switch Cisco business. I see a very large opportunity for the Brocade stock and company with that announcement. The whole direct thing is a good point but will things change? The acquisition is stated with Foundry being a wholly owned subsidiary. Now, isn't that the same as tipping point? Even though COMS is depressed as a company, Tipping point is the profitable piece of COMS post acquisition.

So, don't assume too much yet. We all need to see how this plays out with BRCD and the overall industry. I see things more optimistic. Is isn't the hey day of Nortel/Bay or Cabletron anymore. The marketplace is completely changed with different buying criteria. Brocade stands the best chance of becoming that solid #2 compared to CSCO vs. the rest. Extreme just announced earning down to ~77 mil per Quarter. Force10 (where is the IPO?!?!?) is nowhere to be seen. Woven is niche at best and not interesting too much anymore with the introduction of CEE and FCoE by others. Enterasys (Cabletron) is a dead horse. Nortel is bankrupt. The other big players (IBM and HP) rely on Brocade for SAN switches. Now...what if they can then rely on BRCD for LAN as well.

    The future is bright!
