The doc has a degree in dentistry and failed to advise that any partner would be funding any project for at least 90% or more due to the fact that Ivanhoe Energy is can't fund any projects. Therefore, a partner would want full control of any venture because they are taking full financial risk. In other words, IVAN would receive only a small percentage of any profit earned. Say 20 cents or less on the dollar.
So the value of this company, would be less than most people realize.
Secondly, IVAN sold all their income properties and have no more income at all. This company is one I would never invest in due to the fact IVAN has destroyed all shareholder value years ago. It wasn't too long ago that IVAN management offered shares for $3.00 and today the stock is trading at 50 cents. I have posted this company is a bad investment on every story to date and it looks like people will continue to lose money and listen to a dentist that leads people into a house of pain.

I would rather see an American manufacture awarded the engine contract instead of Rolls-Royce. Rolls-Royce has their in with Airbus and PR seems to obtaining new military engine (F-35 and F-22) contracts. When billion dollar contracts are on the line, all kinds of interesting things happen behind close doors. It's a cruel world out there!!

They lied about both while pumping their own stock regarding projects that never materialized. This company has a proven track record of blowing its own horn and hiding, never to hear about it again. Their assets in China only became valuable when horizontal drilling, along with fracking was developed. The company is fighting to stay alive with no money to develop Tamarack or Pungarayacu in Ecuador. With share price around 60 cents, I honestly don't see them around much longer.

One word of advise. Never believe what IVAN management says. Ask yourself what ever happened to their GTL or HTL projects they said they had through press releases? They have continually lied, pumped their own stock and failed their investors over and over again. Friedland has a reputation as a promoter with no experience or even a track record in heavy oil. He is not an oil man.
IVAN has bet the farm on HTL and still has not one project built. Any so called partner will take controlling interest in IVAN if it comes to it. Why? Because all the risk is shouldered in the money they put down. IVAN is broke and has no money to speak of even with the sale of Zitong. IVAN just borrowed another $50 million less than a year ago and that money must be paid back. IVAN is in serious trouble. More now than when Bret came out with this crazy idea IVAN was an investment. So far, IVAN has lost 63% YTD and will never hit $1 to satisfy NASDAQ requirements to stay listed without losing more money in the future. The one thing I do know is I wouldn't touch this company with a ten foot pole. From my first post to this message to this one, I been right on the money. Facts speak for themselves. Listen and live or buy and lose.

When I wrote about GIIZF as a $.069/share CDS trading as a stock with a dividend of 33% and upside potential, the stock has paid it's dividend like clockwork every single month. For a measly $69k, I was able to accumulate a block of 100k shares. Every month, I've received a dividend of roughly $1500 after foreign tax withholding deductions. Every month. Concurrently, the stock is now trading at almost $0.90 cents. It's not a company, as I explained at Investment Capitalist but a structured CDO which is correlated to a recovery in the housing market in the form of inverse repo. It got crushed on the way down and with a housing recovery underway, this stock will continue to move a little higher each month as it keeps kicking out the dividend. Today is ex-div and although the quote might not show it, if you throw a bid for $.76/share, there's a good chance you'll get a fill.

Get over yourself. Stick with the stock IVAN and the terrible call you've made. You have no credibility with me and your junk stock that NASDAQ is delisting. Stop patting yourself on the back because I see no need for it. If I had listened to you, I'd be a bag holder. Once again, get over yourself for God sakes. Your record here is very poor. The stock has fallen from $2.78 to .64. Your record speaks for itself. Terrible!

Gamblerjag - Robert Friedland's small share of IVANHOE is nothing to this man's billions. He did walk away as he is not involved in day to day activities. As for delisting, warming has been issued and by the look of it, the stock price is falling towards 50 cents while every energy related stock is up, IVANHOE is falling. Another good call by Brett.
Don't get your hope up because you get what you paid for.
Never believe a company that pumps its own while none of their press releases every materialize. The Titantic was unsickable too.

My above comment is a reply to gamblerjag -

Here is my reply to your comment gamblerjag. It seems C. Cooper got off track and didn't digest its full contents, but rather take it in another direction.

Any oil company facing delisting should never be "recommended' or even show up on these boards especially oil companies that never shown any execution of its countless press releases painting billions of dollars of work that never came to anything. It goes to show that the writer of this article is promoting his own personal stock picks that are in complete conflict of interest and should be stopped. Please let the author defend himself even though he's had more than enough time to do just that. Far too many investors have been burned by IVAN over the years with corporate lies, greed and failures. Even Robert Friedland finally gave up and walked away. Ivanhoe Energy is by far the worst run company I have ever seen and the price agrees with me. Cramer will not comment on junk stocks and either should SA.
