An Individual Investor focused strictly on Dividend Growth Investing (DGI). I have been managing our family's investments in this fashion since 2004. My goal is simply to acquire a pool of assets which throw off large sums of cash. Before my retirement those sums are reinvested back into additional shares thus allowing for compounding growth. Some equities are set to reinvest back into additional shares of the paying asset and some (primarily the MLPs I invest in) are set to pay the dividend into a cash pool for use somewhere else when the timing is good. When we retire the switch will be turned the other way and some of the cash will come to us and the balance will still be reinvested to allow for continued growth of the asset pool. I am a number crunching geek proficient in spreadsheets. My background is in Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology. I have four grown children, am very happily married, live in Michigan where my wife and I are restoring a 142 year old Second Empire Victorian home in which we live.
