In return for a lower payment on patent infringement will $BBRY use $NOK maps and continue to use Microsoft's Bing service?

    • oneinfiniteloop: That could be one reason IMO why $BBRY has paid only $65M when one of the analyst had expected somewhere in the range of $160M.

    • oneinfiniteloop: Currently, $BBRY uses TomTom but it has been tightlipped about whom it will use for its maps support. Does anybody have some detail on this?

    • oneinfiniteloop: This also neatly fits into $NOK's strategy to target maps for the enterprise market, this makes me believe that my guess may be very real.

    • oneinfiniteloop: If it turns out to be true then, strategically, I would consider that as a big feather in Elop's hat. Long $NOK and $BBRY.

    • oneinfiniteloop: @pramath - time will tell and we will be around to witness it. Thus far the momentum is in $NOK's favor, did you think $APPL would go down?
      1/5/13
    • pramath: Definitely, in the current momentum. But $AAPL's PE ratio seems to be in value range for me. For Nokia - they lost over 3 billion in 2012 !

    • oneinfiniteloop: If you check the number majority of that loss was to take care of all the cost associated with layoffs, the core business is improving.

    • Eld: The biggest cash effect of lay offs is yet to come (Q4 will show EUR -0.7bn), and there will be more lay-offs in 2013.

    • pramath: @Oneinfiniteloop - Thanks for information. $NOK will still mostly be a lead in the Win8 mobile with HTC - not very attractive right now

    • oneinfiniteloop: @pramath the more I dig into this the more I have started believing that $NOK and $BBRY are going to dig their heals deep into mobility.

    • oneinfiniteloop: IMO with the Android Player support integrated into BB10 platform, one gets lot more features than a plan Android phone. $BBRY is a good bet

    • oneinfiniteloop: IMO Sony, other than the user interface add-ons, doesn't provide any key differentiation compared to another Android phone.
