Ouch. NOK breakup value not encouraging; might limit ability of a buyout upside (ala HP buying PALM) - http://bit.ly/Qw4Tvq

    • DeepValueLover: Waiting for NOK to collapse down to around 85ยข before I put on an options trade...
      10/5/12
    • Leont68: Nok is holding up pretty good DVL, unlike apple.
      10/8/12
    • DeepValueLover: Apple has around $120 billion of liquidity to back it up. Apple can grow its cash at only 5% per year and NET more operating profit than NOK
      10/9/12
    • DeepValueLover: ...and that is without selling even on iPad or iPhone. The IPOD (!) business is still larger than ALL of Nokia! Wow!! Stopping Apple is hard

    • Leont68: You tell that to the new apple investors that invested at $700 and now see their shares down to $636.
      10/9/12
    • DeepValueLover: AAPL @ $700 with its mega cash pile is a p/e of 10 so it is still cheap. Why no mention of NOK "investors" who bought at $9, 8, 7, 6, 5,...?
      10/9/12
    • Leont68: I mentioned the apple example exactly for the above reason dvl. shows it can happen to any investor investing in any stock.
      10/9/12
    • DeepValueLover: When Apple goes from $700 to $70 then we can talk. $70 is less than half of cash.So far Apple's "decline" is nothing like Nokia's collapse.
      10/9/12
    • Leont68: So its ok to lose money on apple but not ok to lose money on nokia your saying?
      10/9/12
    • DeepValueLover: No stock goes up in a straight line. Apple is down ~10%. Nokia is down ~92%. Comparing Nokia to Apple is strange. AAPL is a powerhouse.
      10/10/12
    • Leont68: lol, I agree with you here. Comparing nokia and apple is a strange thing to do.
      10/10/12
    • DeepValueLover: If some key Apple guys left AAPL and went to Nokia then WATCH OUT! Nokia would hit $5 by mid-2014. Elop needs to go!!
      10/10/12
    • Leont68: you had to sneek in a Elop needs to go comment didnt you?
      10/10/12
    • DeepValueLover: As an investor all I care about is my return. Since Elop attached himself to the CEO slot the returns have been horrible. Terrible leader.
      10/11/12
    • Leont68: i am doing great with nok. So I think it goes back to when you bought in.

    • Augustus9: Mr. Elop, isn't he gone?
      10/11/12
    • DeepValueLover: Leont68: Let me guess...you first bought in at the 52 week low, right? Funny how many people now claim that is what they did. Must be skill.
      10/11/12
    • Leont68: no, i bought my first 200 shares at $2.7ish , I averaged down to $1.7ish. I own 600 shares. But now i sell the $2.50 put options every month

    • Leont68: I actually like it when nokia stock tanks, I get to sell for more premium.
      10/11/12
    • Leont68: I am sure it wasnt skill but some luck and I only got interested in nokia when they decided to go with microsoft.
      10/11/12
    • DeepValueLover: Sorry I thought you were one of the investing pros who got in above $4. Most Nokia defenders have ridden it downhill live a sled in snow.
      10/11/12
    • Leont68: I am a investing Rookie lols. But I defend Nokia because I honestly do think they have a future.
