Other than search none of the other stuff is profitable. Just nebulous smoke and mirror's. Designed to fool Wall Street.

I had a choice anyone but Microsoft, Windows phone, Zune, Ribbons, Surface, and X-Box, absolutely the bottom of tech and no amount of H1B's hired by Microsoft will fix it.

Microsoft and Apple are the same in making money and making a OS, and that's it. And one more thing, Apple's customer service along with the UI has always been better. (see Ribbons as a example)

Apple because of the in house design of the OS's, and the mobile chips designed in house can get into the server market anytime at their leisure on their terms. In short they will redefine the market if they want it. (and the tech geeks will blow a gasket as usual).

IBM, SGI, Xerox, Commodore, Next-Apple, Arm, Acorn, and Sun, have done more for modern computing, but most of those companies mention failed to believe in themselves against Microsoft's marketshare, imagine if IBM had continued to update OS/2 into the present day instead of giving up and that also applies to their hardware melt down.

In-house mobile, desktop OS design along with in house cpu design means Apple is in control, and with fingerprint security, maps and eventually search. Google, Microsoft, Samsung and Amazon are the ones in trouble.
