  • Tim Cook's Improbable Victory In Washington [View article]
So Stephen Aniston, when Romney said he paid his fair share of taxes by using the law to lower his effective tax rate to low double digits, you disagreed with his point of view then?

  • Danger Zone For This Week: Apple [View article]
thecatman...market share is irrelevant mate...market share is looking at teh total market...apple sells a premium product...which so far is concentrated in the US...and they dominate that market...plus they dominate the revenues of the TOTAL market..in a few years time when the handset market is saturated..apple will continue to earn revenues from its ecosystem...but of course its growth rate will slow...anybody who comments on apple being overvalued has to explain to me how Intel has a higher P.E...not to mention AMAZON..ridiculous...a... on every drop below 400 for my retirement fund

  • Apple, Zynga Lead Sharp Rise In Short Interest On Tech Names [View article]
Good analysis. do you have a hart that tracks the short interest and the stock price?

With regards to AAPL, the rise in short interest could also cause the stock to trade much much higher if AAPL surprises with any type of innovative product over the next 12 months...as the shorts run for cover.

However, I am in agreement that the rise in short interest ultimately means there are tons of non-believers..with very deep pockets

Well..we are almost 6 months into the next four years...and we have a record DOW and a record SNP...the future doesn't look like a socialist future to me...I would have thought that a socialist future would coincide with a terrible plunge in the stock markets...seems like you are totally wrong thus far...despite a well written article...well written but wrong, at least thus far...and I hope you continue to be for all of the rest of us

  • Apple Q2 2013 Earnings Are Out: What You Need To Know [View article]
I wonder what your similar price computation for Amazon is? That computation is ridiculous fairness123.

The market hates apple now..so it will trade as the market wishes...it is not trading based on any valuation metric that i know of. The S&P 500 has virtually NEGATIVE growth, yet it is trading @ 15X earnings on a whole. Apple is growing faster than the S&P, with a ton of cash to boot, and trades at a discount...ridiculous.... i agree that it could trade towards $300...based on negative market sentiment, not based on the true valuation of the shares...not when Amazon is losing money, has no cash, has a pile of debt, and commands a ridiculous multiple

  • Is Qualcomm In Good Financial Condition? [View article]
    Brilliantly written.excellent stuff!

I share your views on QCOM....however i think a general stock market pullback is coming, so I prefer to wait for entry closer to the 60 to 63 region.

  • An hour before the bell, stocks have pared back early losses, the S&P 500 -0.7%, the Nasdaq -0.9%. Getting the worst of it earlier in the week, the financials show a little relative strength, particularly AIG +2% (are traders sniffing out a buyback announcement?). Basic materials (XLB) sport some green as well, particularly independent oil and gas producers. [View news story]
The Fed is buying stocks indirectly..that's what the POMO money is being used for by the big boys...no wonder the market has pulled back

  • Goldman Sachs believes the selloff in oil service stocks creates a buying opportunity, as it sees Q1 earnings growing at a faster rate driven by completion work. The firm expects Halliburton (HAL) to report in-line Q1 results and recommends buying on the recent pullback, suggests Basic Energy (BAS) on better utilization, and likes Nabors Industries (NBR) on relative valuation. [View news story]
    Very very rotten indeed
